So what ever happend to the L4D2 protesters i mean really

i heard loads of stuff about boycotts and protests but they seam to have died out

one "protester" told me that the boycott was never really going to happen it was just a "warning" which just seems like one big ol fail to me

besides it was never going to work

Valve had the product we wanted....they could probably get away with making every other DLC £5/$5 and we would still buy it

Well, said protesters went and saw L4D2 in action (before the release, that is). They were convinced that there's actually enough additions to justify buying it. After they shut down their protest, only most unsatisfied were still boycotting it.

My only problem with L4D2 is that no-one wants to play first one anymore, and there's basically no point in owning it. If only levels and characters of the first part were incorporated in the second when you have both of them.

And to be honest, these people would probably refuse the second coming of Jesus. Just go "Sorry, no salvation here. It's just gonna be more of the same shit."

I thought most of them were only complaining about the fact that Valve wanted full price for what is essentialy an expansion pack to L4D. And they stopped complaining and actually bought it when the prices dropped a bit.

The boycott actually peaked my interest in getting L4D2, as I had not played the first one. One of the best games of 2009, along with Batman: Arkham Asylum. Go Protesters!

Like most boycotts, they failed, but for more admirable reasons. They admitted 'defeat' and decided to go ahead and side with L4D2 after being given a lovely 'first look' a the game. I was part of those 50k people boycotting it and, amazingly, I still haven't played it. I haven't even played the demo. I decided a while ago that I didn't want to buy the sequel to a game I didn't play much anyway. Oh well.

Then why really boycott it if you're not mad about it?

A boycott isn't only done when you're mad about something.

Soem stuck to it. There was never enough fuel behind that boycott to make a significant impact even after they disbanded and turned into splinter factions. The MW2 one had a lot more fuel behind it and worked mostly on PC.
