I walk back to double check my door's lock almost every day.
I tend to do this too, especially with my car. I will walk around it, testing to make sure every single door is locked and the lights are off. I actually tend to do this multiple times. It makes me think I have some mild OCD...

I put a lot of stuff into my mouth and chew it. Remote controllers and books. Anything really. Hate it when I realize I'm doing but it's like the natural thing I do when bored is to put something into my mouth.
I tend to do this as well. My pens are so gnarled from my years of chewing them in class...

So, yesterday I had another person tell me I have an English accent, the most recent in a long line of people telling me I have an English accent. What is the big deal, you may ask? I have an English accent too, and that is not weird! Well, let me tell you why it is weird, friend: I am not English. I have never been to England. I have lived in America my entire life. Neither of my parents are English; they are also American, born and bred. Same with their parents. I have no idea how I came to have this accent. What is especially weird is that my brother gets the same thing, but my sister does not.
I have the exact opposite thing - I'm British, but inexplicably talk in an American accent for no reason whatsoever - I don't watch enough tv to pick it up from there, and regionally I should sound more like a pirate than anything. The amount of people who ask me where I was born is beyond belief.
I get the same. Nearly everyone I talk to for any decent length of time mentions my accent at some point. It really makes me wonder how it happened to us though. Maybe it is just a brain thing?

Or maybe we were switched at birth! :O

That must make brushing your teeth an awkward experience...

Milk grosses me out. I can deal with milk products, and it's fine if it's in coffee, but the taste and smell of raw whole milk just makes me want to vomit.

I can't burp voluntarily and I don't vomit. Whenever I get really sick/drunk, instead of vomiting I'll just dry heave. I'll heave and heave and nothing will come out. I haven't actually vomited in over a decade.

It's not trivia per se, but I'd certainly say the exact specifications of some random physics problem are trivial.

I do carry a lot of random trivia around in my head as well though. It doesn't really pop up unless something triggers it though.
Ummm... allegedly, one out of three people flush the toilet while sitting down.
Yeah, definitely true... though as a decidedly more biologically orientated scientist, of course I'm going to say that!

Still, I'd hazard a guess that most people around here carry an obscene amount of random trivia about quite a diverse range of topics, I'd imagine...
Yeah probably.
The quirk isn't so much that I remember weird stuff as it is that my capacity for remembering useless and/or weird stuff seems infinite, while every history lesson I go to is pretty much wiped from my memory the moment I leave the classroom.

i.e. My memory is very selective, and I apparently get no say in what to remember.

I hate clean bed rooms or desks they way most people (including myself) hate dirty bathrooms. All the lack of clutter brings on stress to keep it that way and just make me bored somehow.
This! I thought i was the only one. Although it only refers to things like clothing, any food item must be cleaned up.

I also will try food i think i will hate just because it was an interesting idea, I still think Irish cream creamer and Dr.Pepper are the only thing good enough for me to repeat that did not turn out to be normal in some respect like Seracha and Chocolate. Spicy Chocolate has been around forever.

When I get overly drunk I tend to want to go stargaze... because that is what normal people do... 1500 years or so ago

Oh gods, that's just wrong.

Now I can't get the mental image of you trying to brush your teeth in the morning with a porn soundtrack playing in the background out of my head.

It's hilarious and disturbing at the same time.

When I get in a good pocket playing, I just look like a goober with my tongue hanging out.

I do have a lot of trouble with this, as hygiene is very important to me and I brush my teeth frequently. I end up having to keep a lot of milk and water on hand to settle my tummy. Oh well, I'm ever hopeful.

Three things-

Apperantly it's weird for me for having no accent at all (I'm from the UK before you asked). However my driving instuctor did thought my accent was American but I can assure you it's not an American accent at all.

Sometime when I am standing my right foot tend to point to my left food. Don't know why and I wouldn't have notice that if it weren't for my ass of a friends (they made fun for me for doing that).

I abit of a hygine freak when it come to food these day. If my hand are going to be involve like eating pizza, I pretty much head to the bathroom to wash my hands. Granted I'm not obsess to the point I always use soap, just water will do. I guess all that reading about bacteria from the keyboard got to me (which most of my hand spend the most when I'm not in work.)

When I hold a pen/pencil in my mouth I will do the motion of smoking. When I say motion I mean I will suck in, hold the air in my lungs and then exhale the way any smoker does. I have never smoked in my life and no real urge to. I want to know why I do this.

I have the exact same problem with milk. I can put milk in coffee, over cereal, and I love chocolate milk but just plain milk...can't stand it. It tastes awful. I also can't smell the difference between fresh and spoiled milk. Many a time I have gone to have cereal, taken a bite, and only then realized the milk was bad.

Let's see what else...

I shiver at random. I don't know why. All my life I will just randomly shiver. Not because I'm cold, not because I'm scared, I just shiver, it passes and I go on.

I know the words to songs and I don't know it. Often a song will come on the radio and I'll catch myself singing it and yet, you ask me five minutes after the song ended what the lyrics are and I will not be able to tell you.

Watching people brush their teeth, at all. I brush my teeth twice a day (and floss thank you) but watching people do it gives me this terrible tingly sensation down my spine.

I have to sniff all dishes, eating utensils, and cups before using them. I to this day don't know why and it's gotten me into some iffy situations when visiting friends or family, but I really just can't help it.

I'm just really, really eccentric, the kind of eccentric that leads to one going to prom in a steampunk dress.

That, and if you put me in front of a problem, I will not rest until it is solved.

I tend to get somewhat pissed off by petty, insignificant shit. Such as My Little Pony. Everytime I see an avatar of a pony, I feel a slight bit of rage building up inside. Maybe I'm just an intolerant bastard, I don't know. This is the unexplainable thread, after all.

I refuse to buy trousers which have button flies and not zips. Trousers all used to be zipped flies then suddenly they switched to buttons and the change annoyed me. I just prefer zipped flies.

On, and to echo jackpackage, i love rain as well. In fact i like wind, rain and especially thunderstorms. I like it when nature gets loud and angry, it makes me feel more alive.

Since it seems to be a pattern for this thread, I too have been told that I have an accent. However I am an american, and I have been told that I talk with an English, an Irish, a southern, and a Russian accent. I have no idea why so many and just why. Why?

let us see...

I have animalistic tendencies, though not like I'm going to go out into the woods, chase down a deer and drag it home sort of tendencies. Examples, I tend to prefer to walk on the balls of my feet, I tend to move my head around in a sort of bird-like fashion, my arms are almost always bent with my hands hanging limp, and I have a hard time walking with my back up fully erect rather than being hunched over.

what else...

Oh, when ever someone is talking out loud, what ever they happen to say I repeat in my head right after them. It is like their is an echo in my head that speaks only in my voice.

that is all for now.
