Well we have Jim Sterling releasing a video about booth babes and he brought up good points. Well look at this from a fan of Anime, Webcomics, Video games, and Cartoons. I went to Comic con 2011, they had booth babes and know what I have zero pictures of them. The pictures I have is the people I went to go see, Roosterteeth, Writer and artist of Least I Could Do, Optimus Prime, and a whole bunch of cosplayers. Why did I do this? Because they were better then the booth babes I saw. To me cosplayers should be the ones getting paid because I saw a ghostbuster, know what I was worried about when I saw the pack he had on? The fact that this mans back would snap under the overly detailed weight. I also so a Ezio that I would be afraid for the people that live with him because the hidden blade was brilliant, only thing that stopped it from being cooler was even in a crowed convention hall I could hear the blade. Now this doesn't make me think that booth babes are bad, its just when you make a game and you show clips of the character you know now one person will come dressed as that person. Why would anyone do this? It is the same reason that people before borderlands 2 was released started making Maya costumes, the same reason that Gears has cosplayers. They like the subject matter. It doesn't matter if you have booth babes you will still have a hot woman that knows more about your product coming around then a hot woman dressed up as the character that gets paid to do it with absolutely no idea what the idea behind the character is.

As someone who has never been to any cons or watched Jim's video, I don't care either way about booth babes. I'd most certainly look at them if I went but like you I doubt I'd take my picture with them, I would be much more excited about seeing people from whatever industry.

But I like boobs and hot girls so I'm never going to vote for them not to be around, don't need to talk to them and that's certainly not what they're there for. Not sure exactly their purpose (if there is one beyond making people come over to a booth) but fuck it, they're alright to look at.

Either way this is just an opinion from some random internet person who's got no experience on the matter whatsoever.
