Thoughts on Britian?

I have a redcoat, drink real ale, eat fish and chips, don't really mind queueing, (apparently) have a geordie accent and never complain about anything in public. And if you're nice enough to me and you're very lucky I might just say spiffing.

Thats as far as I go with being a British stereotype though. Which now I look at it is quite a way.

don't know many brits. I know some scotts, they're alright. But overall, i think stereotypes are a bad thing, despite many of them being at least partly true. Still, football (soccer) hooligans are awesome.

NBope, he's right. the Beatles were already massive before appearing on the Ed Sullivan show. They were actually huge in Germany way before they broke through in the UK. America was just another stepping stone. Nothing more, nothing less.

No - it isn't. You would be defending your planet then yes, but Britain is a collection of countries with different stereotypes - there is no British stereotypes, there are just different countries stereotypes - how many more times do I need to say this?

We're incredibly self-deprecating for what we've achieved. Our country is irritating to live in, rather than being bad.

Our humour is completely unpolitically correct, yet the rest of the time people need to walk on egg-shells. We have a lot of people who look to be offended, so they can whine about it. Celebrities have to be especially careful or the tabloids twist it and milk it for all they're worth.

I wish we'd stop churning out terrible pop music and realize how talented at music we really are. The popularity of X-factor makes me cry.

I'm not patriotic, but not because I dislike my country...I'm simply not a patriotic kind of person.

I'm very happy with this country. There are parts of it that are bad, but the reason we seem to complain more is because of our cultural psyche

Great Britain?

I like it. I'm fond of the roundabouts, the organic way our towns & villages are laid out, the accents (all of them...even the Thames Estuary accent that everyone hates!), the multicultural areas of the big cities & towns, the great british pub, fish & chips, roast beef & yorkshire pud.

I don't like what Nick Griffin & the BNP are trying to turn the country into. Bloody white supremacists who want to chuck out everyone who has a darker skin, or odd surname, all under the pretence of getting rid of scrounging illegal immigrants & neglecting the fact that the chavvy underclass of Vicki Pollard teen single mums getting benefits & council flats, and Bazza Dazza stoners who claim off the dole, are more of a scourge on the UK than a hardworking, taxpaying family like Mr & Mrs Patel.

Patriotism is a wonderful thing, regardless of whether you were born in the UK, USA, Australia, India or darkest Peru. People who love their country contribute to it, regardless of whether they were born there or not. - Nationalism on the other hand, is ugly, and destructive. It masquerades as patriotism, but isn't a love for your country. It's a hatred of every other country.

The planet is a collection of countries with different stereotypes. Nevermind, agree to disagree. I get where you're coming from, but considering (for example) that the Americans inter-change Britain and England whenever they feel like, any stereotypes they may hold often swing either way.

In my opinion Britain is full of absolute morons I mean some don't even know what their talking about, and if you call one a moron and give evidence for it they will respond by insulting you in very childish manner. Speaking of childish manners the government must either be run by children or chimpanzees (although a chimp could do a better job than Gordon Brown).
