I'm cautiously optimistic; I'm reserving judgement until I've seen more of it, but what they showed me in that ViDoc looked like it could turn out to be a pretty good game.
Someone else own Oni now (take two I think) not sure but yeah... Wouldn't that be the best thing ever. I have so many fond memories, I liked the TCTF officers You know... before they go all evil If any of them died I would restart the mission to try and save them... Pretty sad I know :3Daystar Clarion said:Oni 2 pl0x?
I was intrigued, up until the MMO part. This one Kotaku article about it mentioned Journey, but you could play that game by yourself if you wanted to, and if Destiny won't let me do that, I'm out. I don't want to play with other people, dammit.Frieswiththat said:So I just stumbled across the first vidoc for Bungie's next game, Project: Destiny, and I must say, I'm rather intrigued. I certainly wasn't expecting to hear anything about it for another year or so, considering we only got concept art a few months back. Here's the video:
Thoughts? Feels? Buttsecks?
That's a lot of money they spend they spend to get money from "nobody"Irridium said:Not sure. On one hand, the always online thing is a sticking point for me. Not the best connection here and I don't see why they couldn't just silently put you in a solo-instance if your connection drops or if you just want to play alone.
On the other hand, it sounds a lot like an MMO and those work decently for me, so it might not be an issue.
I don't know, I just don't know.
Seems it may be coming to PC's after all.Draech said:Well Bungie isn't catering to me as a demographic so I am not really all that interested.
I am PC player when it comes to FPS and as Jason Jones says:
http://www.destructoid.com/bungie-says-nobody-plays-shooters-with-a-mouse-keyboard-245428.phtmlWe did a bunch of ambitious things on Halo deliberately to reach out to people," Jason Jones told us. "We limited players to two weapons, we gave them recharging health, we automatically saved and restored the game -- almost heretical things to first-person shooters at the time. We made the game run without a mouse and keyboard. And now nobody plays shooters the way they used to play them before Halo 'cause nobody wants to.
Sorry your product just aint for me Jason

Yes it's almost as if they are trying to convince you to buy itColt47 said:Considering what just transpired with Aliens: Colonial Marines and noticing the similarities in promotional music and styling, I'm not even going to pretend to be excited over this game. Promotions and marketing have become almost paradoxical with video games. As in, the marketers create a hype machine that is designed around generating excitement for the game, which leads people to create artificially high expectations of the game being marketed. Then when the game finally hits the best possible outcome is people are "satisfied" instead of being "impressed", and at worst "resentful" instead of "indifferent".
Actually that whole back story was revealed back in 2011 with Halo: Cryptum.Lex Darko said:All the story of that trailer screamed Halo 4's story.
For those that don't know in Halo 4 it's revealed that humans were a super advanced society who fought against the flood before the Forerunners and were only brought down when the Forerunners started a war against them while they were still fighting the flood; even then Humans still almost won the war. (That's not spoiler by the way only backstory)
But the traveler is the Librarian, globe above the earth her ark a new covenant with the unsc reduced to a city etc.
Story aside I would be more interested in the game if it were a third person shooter rather than first, but I hold no expectations on Bungie's next game.
