For nostalgia's sake I wanted to re-watch Dragonballz (one of my favorite shows as a kid), and I heard the remastered version had come out so I am giving it a try.

So far I am really liking it, the sound quality, color, and cells have visibly improved. Also basically all of the fillers have been taken out.

I mean the writing has never been good in DBZ but Kai is fun.

Anyone else watching it? Any thoughts?

Also for side-discussion, anyone else here watched GT, but agree that it was pretty crappy and not part of canon?

I love Kai, gotten to the episode where Frieza is about to transform into his final form (not the 100% version though). It's a great way to experience nostalgia about the show without having to sit through the original series that has probably lost a lot of its sheen.

About GT, I liked it. Not as much as Z but it was a fun extra bonus I thought.

its ok but not hearing the awesome music from Z (and Kai's theme song that makes no sense what so ever) takes it down a few pegs.

I love it personally, the soundtrack and voice acting is better than ever I think, I don't agree with some of the casting/voice changes, for instance they re-cast Frieza after episode 1 so he's now voiced by a man but the voice he has sounds almost exactly the same, if a little smoother, and they changed Zarbon's voice I preferred the old one, and also I'm not a fan of Gohan's new voice,

however on the whole I love Kai, (I rely on import blu rays to watch it since I live in the UK and refuse to watch it on the small computer screen)

I think the soundtrack is awesome and that one scene where Goku jumps off Kami's lookout to go and fight the saiyans had me feeling like a kid again
