Looking at the game from a different perspective - it is not entirely speculation to claim that eventually this game is going to be released on the PC.
All the others have been released for the PC and sadly with horrible results.

My main thoughts on Halo 3 coming for the PC is very devided. I don't dislike the Halo franchaise to be honest - it's not bad and to be honest I think that the game might deserve a second chance and the time for that is when I experience the game on my court - the PC platform.

I played all the other Halo games on my PC and they weren't bad. They were nothing mindbreaking - but they weren't bad and as a hardcore FPS enthusiast I don't mind having some time off to blow some convenant scum off those giant rings. The further I play the games the further I realize that the game has a lot of main problems. I've listed these as:

* Terrible port
The game has been out for the Xbox for 3 years before being ported of the for the PC - *THREE YEARS*. There is no excuse what so ever of making a lousy port for it - MUCH LESS when the fact that the console which the game was originally developed for is virtually a PC. (There's a reason why they call it the Direct-X-box) You are not going to get an easier job of proting a game to the PC than doing it from the Xbox to the PC. That didn't stop the game form suffering form terrible preformance issues - bad framerate and weird glitches and bugs and minor stability issues. I mean for christ sake, the XBox1 was virtually a 733 Mhz PC with 256 MB ram on it. That people wont be able to run it on their modern day computers that is almost 4-5 faster than that on a desirable framrate on MAX detail is just downright criminal.

* Stripped and crippeled
There is no news that the game is outdated when it gets released on the PC - not to even mention that compared to the PCs standard of First-Person-Shooter-Games the game is barely sub-par with what is already out there. Why not try to compensate that by giving players more content, modes, maps, whatever to make it all worth playing it again on the PC? Apparently such an idea never existed in the minds of Microsoft nor Bungie when they stripped functions and modes off the game when ported to the PC. No Co-Op mode? What the hell? If there's something that should catch the interest among PC gamers is something exclusive for the PC version making the purchase worth it. Some extra content, map-packs, developers diary, documentries, art, WHATEVER! Just don't sell us a game for the PC that has LESS content than its console equivalent.

* DirectX 10 gets thumbs down
Don't use Halo 3 as a lame excuse to market your sloth-excuse-for-an-OS-VISTA.
We get it that DirectX 10 is supposed to revolutionize gaming graphics and all, but when it is presented with blatant lies and pure bullshit then it's a recipe for disaster.
Halo 2 was a "VISTA EXCLUSIVE" game - accordingly to Microsoft the game is far too advanced for DirectX9 and that they are a lot of graphical content that only DirectX10 can use. Then why was Halo 2 hacked and modified to run perfectly fine on Windows XP with near-identical graphical detail? This has happened to multiple games (Crysis anyone?) when Microsoft tries to convince gamers that DirectX 10 has extra graphical content and featuers that are impossible to reproduce with DX9, which naturally after all this we know is a blatant lie.
Not everyone wants to upgrade to VISTA neither does anyone want to purchase an expensive videocard that supports DirectX10 when we can play the same game with same graphical detail on our old system and old OS. Seriously. Just release the damn game for Windows XP *AND* Vista.

* Full retail price - Full retail farce
Charging PC gamers $50 for a game that was released nearly 3 years ago is downright criminal.
This is the main platform for FirstPersonShooter - and we know when they are better and cheaper alternatives out there. Does Microsoft and Bungie think so highly of their game that they think that it is in any way equivalent in quality and price of the vast selection of FPS-games out for the PC already? Gamers know when they are getting ripped off - and this is really not an exception.

When it comes to Halo 3, I doubt it is going to be any different from what I've listed.
And that is really just sad. It seems like Bungie nor Microsoft seems to care enough for the game ported to the PC that they'll let lousy developer slaughter their highly praised game to a substandard awkward mess. I know that Bungie couldn't give two shits less about what opinions I or anyone else have about this game on the PC, but please come to your senses.

That would be all.
