You know this is actually a brilliant and educational idea for a product, get kids(and maybe some adults) an interest in science, engineering, and art by making them build various of things and have it fully integrate those educational elements with Nintendo software and games. Not only can you make certain objects but you can use them as tools for Nintendo games. It kinda sucks that it costs 70 dollars to have however.

A lot of people are saying its a really stupid product, but I think they are forgetting that this is marketed towards young children. Its something you can make yourself by following the instructions, and then it serves a function for a game when its done.

The price point of 70$ is also a point of contention, but remember, several labo come in one set, and they come with the switch software. So no, you're not just buying cardboard.

This is something I would never buy in a million years for myself (I'm 24), but I can see what Nintendo is going for.

Eh. I don't mind it. I'm hearing this is great for children since it encourages them.

As someone who works with Cardboard a lot, the idea of playing Video Games through it is not appealing. Although overall, I do like this idea a lot.

I wonder if the Labo will start a rush of Cardboard-Trimmed Electronics?

Looks neat, and I work at a place that sells 4'x8' sheets of cardboard, so replacement parts are a breeze.

I'm mostly interested in the Robot game myself. It's the closest we're going to get to playing Project: Giant Robot (since it probably is Project: Giant Robot), and my inner manchild wants to destroy stuff.

neat stuff, especially with how it really shows how advanced the Joy Cons are. It's meant for kids and considering how popular LEGO is it should have no trouble selling. Furthermore, Nintendo has said they'll be offering the patterns for free so replacements should be no problem.

This is Brilliant. it's basically using cardboard like Lego and combining it with videogames.

I'm not very creative when it comes to building things myself so i probably won't pick it up. This game is going to be absolutely amazing for kids and big "kids at heart" like Nintendo said it would be though.

this is amazing for people who are creative and love building things.

I think it looks awesome. The ways it'd be great for kids is limitless since you can colour the cardboard easily and make each piece your own (No crazy controller modding or bulky plastic casings needed), it seems inexpensive to get replacements ($10 for the entire kit normally, and $60 for the software)... I'm 24, and it might be a bit beyond my demographic. Does that mean I won't get it? Not a chance. Do I wanna pretend to stomp a robot around with this silly looking cardboard robot suit? Hell yeah I do!

Aside from cardboard peripherals that you place a joy con in, what is this?

you pretty much summed it up.

it's a building and crafts game that you use cardboard in conjunction with the Switch. you build whatever you want out of cardboard and play minigames on the tv (giant robot) or tablet screen (fishing and piano) with them.

Nintendo has confirmed that the Labo kits will not be mandatory and that it plans to offer all of it's cardboard design patterns for free.

The Nintendo Labo video game cartridge will be the only aspect that is required to be purchased from Nintendo.

actually, it was corrected. the kit is mandatory. however, i guess that you can just take the kit and copy it on another cardboard to make yourself a second kit. i have two kids, i might get one, and make another one for the second kid...

I would have lost my shit over this when I was a kid.
That was my first thought. To be honest if I had a Switch and the money I'd get one for grown up me too.
