It's not necromancy (IMO) if someone makes a repeat thread of a week-old topic that got three replies and died quickly. However, a repeat thread of "Who's your favorite character in game x?" is unnecessary, to say the least.
Maybe I'm just pissed off having to repeat myself a dozen times since joining these forums on things like "WRPGs vs. JRPGs." It gets annoying, after a while, since those threads really never change. There's always the same amount of reasoned discourse (little) and incredible bullshit (lots) in every single one...
It is a reasonable discussion. The problem is, it's the same reasonable discussion every single time (i.e. they have different strengths, come from different platform and cultural backgrounds, and very few aspects of either are universal)...and the same small amount of it, after sifting through all the same idiocy to see it. No offense intended, but I'm going to deliberately ignore your metaphor.WRPG vs. JRPG is a reasonable discussion. There are valid points and good debators but sssssooooo many more trolls that they flood and suffocate the conversation to the point that the discussion becomes a dick-measuring contest. Although, come to think of it, it be rather hard to measure my junk underwater... unless I had goggles... and here I go, back to humming the FMA theme song, gosh darn it...
