how did they severely mess up things
the network is free
the achievements are the same AND they are planning on integrating it more with home and giving you rewards for getting certain trophies
the controllers have always been better, the rumble was taken out due to a lawsuit
blu-ray is better meaning you can do more things and better graphics all on one disc instead of multiple ones
oh and look at the failure rate of the two
gonna say everything is about equal up to the last two where the PS3 shines well above the 360
Just because the network is free doesn't mean it's better.... PSN has always had lag and connectivity problems. I have several friends who are PS3 owners and they have all said the service is not good. In addition, they've all said they tried the Wi-Fi and none of them use it because it makes it that much worse.
XBOX live is just as bad if not worse for connectivity. it's because american internet SUCKS, they have horrible infrastructure. when i was at XBOX Live support, besides hardware "i can't connect to live" was the number 1 issue we had.
so much like at that time, it's your friends' internet that sucks not the psn, i've never ever had an issue with connecting to the PSN
I'm not saying the trophies are bad, I'm saying they're shamelessly ripped off from XBox and forced down the developer's throats, whereas Microsoft had them in there from day 1. All of my arguments were about PLANNING.
right and when you restore your gamertag you lose a bunch of your achievements and yet when you move your trophies you don't, hmmm yes the achievement system works a lot better
btw m$ also shoved them down the throats of developers and told them they all must support achievements
Controllers - Probably the most poorly planned part of the system. Up until a few months from launch they were this boomerang design (http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/09/ps3-boomerang-controller-tossed-doesnt-come-back/), and then they scrap it and give you guys the same controllers from the PS2 but with no rumble and a horrible motion detection system built in, not to mention "trigger buttons". Then, a year or so later they scrap support for the motion sensor and go back to rumble packs.... talk about poor decisions.
well they kept the design cause well the PS1 controller was still a good design, why fix what's not broken?
also they still have the sixaxxis controller WITH the rumble support, also it's a pretty good system compared to the one the 360 has .... oh wait that's right they don't have one. then there's the 360 Eye toy they are coming out with
also the rumble wasn't included due to a lawsuit that was happening at the time over a patent on the rumble. it was rather common knowledge
XBox had planned poorly when it came to the heatsinks on their motherboards, but all of the latest generation systems have fixed this problem. So neither company is perfect but at least Microsoft had put some more thought into their system.
really they did? it has a massive failure and they KNEW about it and yet they still pushed it out so people can buy it regardless of the fact that it fails horribly. also the issue of it not failing currently on the new hardware hasn't been proven
their achievements and xboxlive have tons of issues, so really how was it better planned?
