I posted this in another thread a short while ago and I guess i really want to know if there are other escapist who think like this and have the same well, problems at times.

have you ever read a word written down and not recognised it, a word you've perhaps seen all your life but the spelling seems somehow alien and wrong, the word itself seems wrong. have you ever wondered about who you are, the you looking in on your own thinking brain, your consciousness exsists somewhere within the grey mass between your ears allowing you to interpret and percieve the world around you.

I've been thinking, and the closer I look at it the more I think the computer, on so many levels resembles a human being, binary at a cellular level (with the body's interaction with protein strands), hardware, software, input/output, viruses, programs. If only there were some way to write our own programs in the easy way they can be written for a pc. Well, i'm gonna ignore the obvious flaws in this analogy for now.

oh yeah I was thinking about digital ink and I thought how cool it would be if a paint could be made from it where the magnet-particles where suspended in a gel, the particles could be activated by electric/electromagnetic fields like mobile phones and other electronic equipment or even the brain. I just thought it would be cool to have a wall that would react to the invisible world around visibly.

phew...

just tell me what you think, I really want to know.

if i start to think does all this really exist? how am i controlling my life - why does it all run so perfectly! why would an all powerfuly being able to make all this have to make his son have the ability to walk on water and clone bread? why not just make him able to fly and end world hunger by just thinking it? (go athiesim)
i normally have my mind go off on a tangent if im bored when someones talking anyway - man i have fun with my mind in school

I have had that word thought before.

That it somehow doesn't seem right.

I've also had it with people, some people I have known for a long time, and when I look at them, they seem strange and different.

I've never had that word thought.

But think, why do we do anything? Ultimately, what is the great goal? You can lead a good life, alright, but then what? Others remember you, but then they're going to expire and would people remember them? Just......why?

I was thinking about that, we impose our own perceptions and morality on history in the first place, seeing it in whatever light is in trend, so in my eyes history is constantly shifting. As to living a good life and being remembered, I think like that too - what is the point? It certainly wont be to be remembered, is the ultimate purpose of life the success of man kind as a species and it's propagation? In a million years would you be remembered? Would it matter?

I'm coming round to the idea that the greatest achievement in life is comfort and satisfaction (distinctly not "happiness").

That's exactly how I'm living my life, brother :)
Happiness comes and goes, no-one is ever constantly happy, we all get knocks. Comfort and satisfaction are key.
