The thought that being upset does no good for anyone. That usually gets me into a better frame of mind. I wake myself up with that thought every day. It works pretty well I would say.

Warm hugs, the smell of a loved one's perfume/cologne, the subjects in university that fill me with the most passion, my favorite flowers, all things cute and fuzzy, knowing that things always get better

If im ever feeling down? I put on my ipod, play the song Ningyo Hime, and look at my mothers picture wondering what it would be like if i knew her.

Look, look, I know this isn't a thought, but if you're sad this will cheer you up:

If that did not make you smile, something is wrong. Very, very wrong.

NOTHING!!!!!!!

I am always depressed.............
Yea ok that's a lie.

That said there isn't anything particular that cheers me up. I guess I just try to ignore whichever put me down in the first place.
If that doesn't work, bury my head in the sand/videogames.

Sure not the most mature way of dealing with life but it sort of works.

I generally just picture myself at the vanguard of a modern day people's revolution.

Not as much a thought as an unusual fantasy, but it works.

"If I had alcohol, this would aaaallll go away."

Of course, this usually reminds me that I do NOT have alcohol, and if I did, I would not be allowed to drink it without THE LOOK OF SHAME.
And then I feel worse.

... So wow, that is like the opposite of what this thread was going for.
I'll just slink out, then.

"Don't worry, you'll be dead soon enough!" Surprisingly effective at putting me in a good mood and making life more enjoyable. I rarely have to think about it, though. I'm pretty much always in that mentality.

I read Scott Pilgrim, Hitchhicker's, or Terry Pratchett. They're all good pick me ups.

The impending mega comeuppance the Tories have due for them at the next election.

Assuming we get one.

Not thoughts. people. well, one person in particular (my little sister) but I'm hoping that this girl will be another. she only has to say one word. god, yes i know exactly how pathetic that sounds, deal with it.

Well not a thought, but I find a combined caffeine/sugar high works to reduce depression to mere ennui.

I didn't smile. What is wrong with me?!

OT: I remember the worst day of my life, then compare that to whatever happened. That cheers me up for some strange reason.

Not even at
"ARRRRRRRR, let's make a cake!"? If so, something is very wrong.

Not even at that. I just went "huh..." and moved on.

I think my funny bone broke somewhere.
