I can't be the only one that thinks this is karma for inventing the concept that would come to known as "project $10," can I? I really hope that comes back to bite every company that employed it on the ass, either through sales or, failing that, a class action lawsuit for violating the right of first sale -- whether it violates it on its face or not, they are /so/ violating the first sale doctrine in practice.
Oh, as for the UDraw tablet: if it weren't for the fact that it plugs into a wireless controller, instead of directly with a USB port, I think it would have sold quite well. Think about it: a decent sized tablet for around $70? That would fly off the shelves thanks to the Deviant Art set. It's like the Guitar Hero microphone; musicians buy them separately because they're actually a good quality USB mic that's a lot cheaper than anything of similar quality, and you can use them for recording in a home studio.
Edit: Matter of fact, I saw the Wii version in Walmart the other day, never having heard of it, and was intrigued until I noticed that it only worked with a Wii remote. Otherwise, that would have been the cheapest tablet (of that size; I've seen some tiny ones for around the same price) that I had ever seen.
