THQ week on Steam.

I just bought the Red Faction series for only $9.95 USD. Hope the savings keep coming! Has anyone else played the series? Is it decent?

What games are you going to get from THQ when they come on sale?

Red Faction is mediocre.
Red Faction 2 is crap.
Red Faction Guerilla can be fun.

I got the THQ pack during the summer sale. Saint's Row 2 is my favorite game out of the pack, so I highly recommend it, no matter how badly ported it is. RFG was a lot of fun, too, especially when you get all of the armor upgrades so you can charge at everything with your hammer.

If it wasn't so recent, I'd hope for a few %s off Darksiders.

RF:G came free with Metro2033 and was kinda meh. RF1 I still have floating around on old discs, but never finished that.

Yeah I played SR2 on my 360 and I loved it to no end. I thought the Arcady feel of it is what made it fun. Something Rockstar sort of missed with GTA 4, don't get me wrong, GTA 4 was great, but they sacrificed some fun for the realism.

I'd be a little more positive about RF, but he's absolutely right about 2 and '3'.

Personally I would wait and see if they offer the STALKER series at some super cheap price - that is the one game series that has had me re-playing it again and again. Shadow of Chernobyl I must have played about 5 times, Call of Pripyat the same, and Clear Sky twice. I just sort of get through them and then the desire to play again comes back - absolutely my favourite games

The endless and amazing quality of some of the mods available make it even more likely you will get good replay value from them, though of course they may not be everyone's cup of tea.

That said I think maybe only SoC is actually THQ - the others might be GSC game world ... I get confused with publisher / developer ...

Both are worth it, in my opinion. Though would you take the word of someone who clearly likes Metro 2033?* Mhrrmh? Call of Pripyat is more polished than SoC, though there's always the wonderful modding community and their overhauls that turns SoC into a fluent experience.
