Thread Necromancy?

Aahhh! There's one- honestly, why point out that a thread's been done before if the poster couldn't find any record of said thread before posting his own?

Sometimes (if the thread had a name that didn't really hint towards the title) then I can see why they may have created a new one and not seen the old one, but if they do search and see some, or simply refuse to search; well, it gets annoying.

I am a proud necromancer and deja-nazi, I will kill you through your monitor if you make a copy thread when there's another one within five pages. It's just dumb.

I will concede that the search button is flawed, so if you don't know if a thread has been done and are too lazy to search yourself, message me and I'll look for you. I've been here a long time, so I stand a pretty good chance of knowing right away if it's on the off-topic anyways.

I realise that necro posting on this thread in it self is quite lame, but I just need to say this:

Necromancy is fine, when you actually contribute something worthwhile. Necroing a "your favourite x" topic is useless and annoying. Necroing a DRM topic and actually giving a bit of news/insight/well thought out opinion is fine.
