Maybe its just me (and I dont pay that much attention) but I have noticed a lot of the threads I read arnt really discussing anything but showing off how great you are at a givin topic.

I've also noticed a lot of people skip the other posts and head straight to the bottom to reply in an attempt to wave their e-penis infront of everyone else but like the posters before them they will get ignored.. The cycle goes on

Maybe im just sour cos nobody reads my fucking posts..

In defense of those who stroke their poke, the reason they get so much screen time is because they are known for being good at a given topic. I mean, if two exploits were released for a program, it's very likely the more famous coder will get more downloads. Show someone consistent aptitude in a given field, and they'll get consistent followings.

And, in your defense, sometimes it is hard to be seen. You have to be loud, and good at it, like Khell_Sennet's rants, or RAK Autonomous Intelligence. The more iconic and visible you are, the easier it is to be picked up on-radar. Aside from the Fay avatar, I don't really pick you out of a crowd of posts in my mind. It's easier to see those you know to look for.

Sadly, that's human nature. And frankly, I don't think it will change. You can be visible, though. Make a big enough splash, and you'll feel the ripples. Good or bad really depends on the splash.

It's possible they read and don't reply. Unless you have some sort of omniscience then how are you to know people ignore them? If they can't feasibly disagree and the only thing they can reply with is "I agree", really, it's probably better they don't post.

Assuming it's well written. Anyone can rant, ranting well is a whole other thing.

Though I have trouble recognising the name (A problem I have with almost anyone that has numbers in their name) My thoughts are something along the lines of "Oh Zen...something, isn't that the cartoon guy with the hair? I'll go see"
I like to think that at least some people listen to me.
But people will only pay attention to those that either agree with them wholeheartedly or dissagree with much an inflamitory statement. The whole 'Zen' or middleground aproach to things will generally not receive either a bad or good response.

Both.

I notice ya Zen. But then I know you in real life. As for Khell, he didn't need rants to become popular. Post good topics or well constructed post make you popular.

But then again, people do like to repeat stuff again and again and again without looking over other's posts. I try to do read everyone's posts and generally do, but when you get to something that's racked up 300+ post, I tend to not jump in on the end and ride the e-wave, e-penis flapping in the wind.
