Depends on who was doing the threatening. If it's the mafia or something, I'd call the police, but if it's some dick who poses no immediate threat I'll show him how much of a mistake it is. By calling the police.
Under section 4a of the public order act 1986 - if the threat causes genuine fear for unlawful violence then it would be my duty to arrest the person and put them before the courts.
