Interesting. I might have to break my pretentious haiku-based twitter persona and go for this.

I wish that Burton would make some more low key films. Big Fish is easily his best work of the 2000's.
quoted for distressingly high amounts of truth.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Big Fish is one of the most underrated films I have ever seen. It is utterly brilliant, and no Johnny Depp in sight!

Let's see. Tim Burton's "Cadavre Exquis".

Stainboy. Let's see, he's depressed. Dress him in black. He has daddy issues and is an outcast. Now for who would play him? I'd say Johnny Depp. But we need a love interest to make it interesting! How about....top of my head....Helena Bonham Carter? YEAH! But then a soundtrack to tie it together. Something fanciful yet a bit gothic. Anyone have any clue who we could use?
Oo! Oo! This is way out of left field, but I'd say Danny Elfman!

just a duel with the Jabberwocky (something from the original stories)
That seemed like a war to me. XD. I can't find examples of the romance sub plot, but Johnny Depp staring into that girl's eyes and having intimate conversation about what size he likes his girls to be was enough to make me cringe.

and overall was surprisingly faithful in tone and theme to Carrol's original work.

Meh, I haven't really liked anything recent by Tim Burton anyways.

I can't wait till 4chan gets word of this though.

I think Tim Burton needs help writing anything these days. I admit that writing, especially screenplays, is a chore but seriously, would it kill him to come up with something original? I had the misfortune of reviewing Alice in Wonderland for an online film site. I'd share my review here but I think I'll just let the following image explain my impressions of that movie.

Oops, looks like I got ninja'd on the train wreck analogy. Oh well, a picture says 1000 words which, ironically, was about how long my review was.
Also:
American McGee did a better job 10 years ago with the Quake 3 engine.
He didn't write the script for Alice in Wonderland.

INSERT A QUARTER TO TRY AGAIN

Johnny Depp is the main character and Helena Bonham Carter is some crazy lady shouting random words. Now just add some extra's to make it look like the focus isn't all on Depp when really it is and we're all set.

Burton is a watered down version of Lynch at best....Why does he continue to make films and Lynch only continues to build furniture?

That said I would be very surprised if Johnny Depp doesn't get a say in the ending of this.
