Tim Burton's Movies: Eccentric, yet awesome. I'll be certain to catch this one, and that opening song is best described as 'sweet'.

Oh, and at about 1:24 there's one of the sackboy-things wearing what looks like a colander. It made me think of a Big Daddy.

I'm excited about "9"

I loved the original short and I can't wait for the movie. With Burton helming it'll definately be awesome.

It's going to be sad though...

Everyone but 9 dies

Looking great. Love the soundtrack. I can't wait for this to air... although the date seems a tad of a long wait.

Inside joke, perhaps? Hey, they already did one popular game reference, so why not do another?

Urgh, I've seen this news story about "9" a billion times already, yeesh!

Just because it has characters that seem like Sackpersons and a world that is like Fallout doesn't mean it needs to be in a gaming news room.

....that said, it looks POSITIVELY FUCKING AWESOME. Can't wait to see it!

I liked the 11 minute film but to make this feature length with voices and by Tim Burton of all people to grace this film with his hobnobberey somehow makes it unflavorable. Espacially with Frodo as 9. Or does 9 have a voice? Whatever.

Original video because no one has posted it yet. Strange really. As much as I liked the short a whole fucking backstory and various monsters instead of just one is gonna be annoying. And if they take out clever ways to destroy metal monsters in favor of blowing them up is gonna piss me off.

Looks pretty good - at least it isn't a musical - but I'm not so sure about Elijah Wood being in another animated film that just LOOKED good. Happy Feet was such a waste of Robin Williams.

It does look good, though. I am intrigued.

Cheers Not Good, I was a little reticent to post the short because of people's reactions. 9 is voice by Elijah Wood; but there's a big leap between short films and feature films, and I'm not sure if a mute feature film actually could work.

Tim Burton's quirkier projects are usually good. Big Fish (to above: no Depp here), Ed Wood, Nightmare Before Christmass, Corpse Bride, Batman Returns (aka Burtonman).

But hey, I'm a fan, so I'm biased.

Also up for this year:
Coraline in a similar type of off-beat animation.

Is it just me or does the whole design of this film seem heavily influenced by the direction of video game art in recent years?

I love the look of the movie. Though I, as others have said, would prefer a Fallout movie, hopefully written by someone not focused on pleasing the public. On topic again, It's very videogame-ish. I'm waiting for the adaptation, to see whether it's as good (as the movie looks).

Folks...this is as much a Tim Burton movie as much as Hostel or Hero is a Quentin Tarantino movie...

He's producing.

And while we're at it Tim Burton didn't direct The Nightmare Before Christmas either. He simply produced and created the characters. Sorry it just annoys me when people will attribute a movie to its producer because the trailers tie it to their name...

Fucking. Awesome. There just aren't enough movies like this out there - different, unique, dripping with creativity.

(And I don't think it looks that much like Fallout. "Fallout" isn't synonymous with "Post-apocalypse" :p)

Oooooh, Neil Gaiman's Coraline? I'm so there. Just got the book.
Oh, man. I was so dissapointed when I saw the trailer for that. It looks VERY different from the book. I'll still go see it, I guess, but I'm not expecting to be pleased.
