Where does he get the money to file all these lawsuits?

You'd think after the second or third his bank manager would be refusing the funds for all the expensive lawyers, or is he the kind of nutter that self represents in court?

Really, now. does he honestly think this is going to work anymore? Or is he just hoping for a settlement on the basis of "ah, fuck it, let's just give this guy some cash and dodge some tiresome courtroom nonsense"?

Oh, Tim Langdell. I'm glad gaming has a villain that's fun to hate.
We need him now that Jack Thompson is gone.
I'm waiting for the Langdell plushie to come out at Walmart...when you squeeze it he either says 'Use edge and I sue you!' or 'Edge is what I call myself around the ladies, wink wink.'

Methinks ol' Timmy has stepped too far. I'm betting good odds he will lose his pet trademark, though it probably won't shut him up.

I'm going to copyright "and" RIGHT NOW.

You all owe me some serious money for the years you've gotten away with using that word for free.

Ah, Langdell. You are an endless source of litigation-based lulz.

Here's to hoping that this time, he gets wacked hard enough to stay down. Also, I can't wait to see what a certain Escapist columnist has to say on the matter...

What?
Really........really?
This is sad.
This is really sad.
The guy just needs to grow up.
I wouldent be suprised if he tried to get a copyright for the word Games.

While he sort of had a case with the game titled simply "Edge" (and even then it was an obvious case of trademark squatting), this is just ridiculous. Tim Langdell and all the other copyright/patent/trademark parasites need to jump off a bridge.

Also, is it just me, or is the Edge games logo a total rip-off of EDGE magazine [http://www.edge-online.com/]?

It would be worth learning how to code games just to make one called 'Edgiest of the edge edges 2: Edgier than an edge' and see what he does.

The definition of the word edge should also be changed to 'Tim Langdell's'.

On a related note, everyone who said edge in this thread will find a letter from Dr. Langdell's lawyers tomorrow morning.

Oooh, Edgy.
Come on now, no need to push this over the edge of insanity.

Obviously, the clear solution to this is to put the word edge into the title for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I'd like to see him sue that.
A little off topic, but sweet jesus that an awesome avatar.

OT: Yea this guys a pain. Did I hear somewhere that Edge magazine has to pay him for using the word as their title? Or did I imagine that?

I must go copyright 2, 3, 4, call, duty, of, warfare, modern, and ":"!
I shall be rich!
Seriously though, I wish he would just stop, or sue EA because of "Mirror's Edge"

Thanks. Its a small clip from a canceled episode of the Kirby anime, made into a .gif with a summer background by The Holiday Council. I know its not summer anymore, and even though they also made a .gif with the original background from the show, I really do love that beach background. As for your question concerning EDGE magazine, I cannot find any information refuting or confirming it, but I doubt that it is likely. I don't think Langdell sues outside of the realm of actual games.

Oh sweet jesus. Tomorrow, I'm going to the patent office to patent a new character I;ve made called Tim Langdell. He will be a nutjob who insists on frivolous lawsuits.

Anyone who acts like my patent WILL BE SUED.

OT: And here, we see the rare specimen Trollius verificium, or the real-life troll. The few studies we have have conducted on this specimen have concluded that it feeds by creating feelings of general hostility wherever it goes, and then wanders off looking for it's next victim to harass. Experts agree that this specimen exhibits parasitic qualities, and that the easiest way to rid yourself of the RL troll is to either not feed it or report its existance to the proper authorities and move on, depending on the situation in which the RL troll is encountered. Once this is done, the RL troll will cease to exist.

OT: (no, seriously this time) Did Langdell learn anything from the Mobigames lawsuit? No? Didn't think so. Can we get EA back here, please?

I guess Gamestop will lose their "Edge Cards" too, if the ass-I mean Langdell gets his way.
