Okay, I'm confused. The point and click adventure game they are asking funding for isn't Psychonaughts 2....is it?

Crazy to think that a point and click adventure game would need more than 1 million to get off the ground.
It didn't. They asked for 400,000 which was doubled in a little over half a day and more than tripled before two days. I think the rest is all about gamer enthusiasm (a good thing) and curiosity as to how far the number can go. Not saying the pace will remain like this for the duration of the Kickstarter period, but if the current numbers are any indication, the final tally could very well be well beyond Guinness-worthy.
Ahh ok. Well either way its mind-blowing. ;D

No, it's not. The whole "Will Notch fund Psychonauts 2?" thing is a separate story. I believe the timing is more or less a coincidence.

As some people have mentioned, while this could revolutionize how games get funded in the future, it's still not quite feasible to fund a AAA game like Psychonauts through this means. Even if it is (and I guess it might be possible), this is a different project.

So, got a response back from a Double Fine Team-member on Kickstarter regarding if the posters are going to be individually signed rather than printed off a signed master copy:

They will be individually signed!
That's the $250 dollar one mind you, which is pledged out at 900 people.

That's going to be one well earned hand cramp right there.

Shame I don't have a credit card at the moment, this is something I could really get behind. Although, I still haven't forgiven Schafer for the lack of a PC version of Brutal Legend...

When they add in more rewards around $100 I'm going to pledge more money. TAKE IT TIM SCHAFER! TAKE IT ALL! GAHAHAHAHAHA

Really though, this is rather fun. I don't think I've had so much fun giving money to someone, cept maybe real charity projects.

Think that sounds good? You should see the rewards Double Fine couldn't add to the Kickstarter page and instead posted - probably for a laugh or two - on the Double Fine website [http://www.doublefine.com/news/comments/the_double_fine_adventure-adventure_is_here/]:

Pledge $15,000 or more:
Dinner with Tim Schafer and key members of the dev team.

Pledge $20,000 or more:
Dinner and BOWLING with Tim Schafer and key members of the dev team.

Pledge $30,000 or more:
Picture of Ron Gilbert smiling.

Pledge $35,000 or more:
Undoctored picture of Ron Gilbert smiling.

Pledge $50,000 or more:
Become an actual character in the game.

Pledge $150,000 or more:
Tim Schafer (that's me) will give last four remaining Triangle Boxed Day of the Tentacles, in original shrink-wrap." (Limit of 1) (Holy crap, what am I thinking? I only have four of those!)
Tim Schafer, you fool! You don't realize the insanity and love the fans have for your work! There could be as many as a hundred that donate for a chance of getting that game!

... Granted, I don't necessarily have the munnies to be one of those hypothetical people, but I don't doubt the Internet to conjure up people like that.
