OK, heres a little game me and some mates at work have been playing.

Your hosting a dinner party and your also the proud owner of a time machine. That said its obviously time to invite some people over and the past is the place too look.

Basically, its you, your significant other, and you can invite 4 other guests from any period of the past. Only rules are they have to have been proven to be real (beyond reasonable doubt) and they have to be from the past. They can still be alive today, though you should be getting an earlier version of them. Oh, and they all speak your native language due to time dilation. Or penguins or something.

Mine:
Johnny Cash
Sir Isaac Newton
Julius Ceasar
Niccolò Machiavelli

Batman
John Lennon
Edward Norton
Christopher Eccleston
Frank Miller

I know they're not from the past, but they're awesome and there are no historical figgures I'd like to have dinner with.

My teacher, when he was a kid. Just to see if he was the goody two shoes he wants us to think...

Actually, probably Ghandi, because he's awesomely nice
Albert Einstein to find out what he said at the very end.
Alexander the Great. Because he's great.
My Grandfather, as he died recently, and it would be an awesome.
Errr, God. This way, if he exists, I've got him here, if I don't have him, he doesn't exist, either way I beat religion. (By dissproving, or doing in my measly lifetime, what they've been trying to do for centuries)

Yyyeah.

me from 5 minutes into the past
me from 5 years into the past
me from 40 years into the future

Master of time and space.
I like this idea only, I would have my 12 year old self, my current self, myself 5 years from now, myself from ten years from now and, myself 20 years from now. Instead of a significant other, I would have myself 30 years from now [unless a future version of myself is already married]

As for original dinner guests!

Ludwig Von Beethoven
Stan Lee [about 40 years younger]
Pharaoh Cleopatra
Jimmy Hendrix

Since I haven't got a significant other, I would just hit on Cleopatra...also I would invite Tesla
