I love how everyone thinks that 4chan is this single hive-mind of neckbeards, and yet if you pop over to the other thread, they get angry that people have these horrible stereotypes about gamers.

I also like that 4chan shoves "feminist" into a banned words section for what is clearly 4chan humour, and everyone (well, mostly everyone here) just goes "Hurr durr neckbeards stupid mysogonists! They're so stupid!"

I would ask that everyone go onto 4chan for half an hour. Go to /b/, go to /pol/, go to /adv/. Try to have a conversation. You know what you'll find? 100 different opinions. Now come back here. Now what you'll find? 2 different opinions, and then everyone attacking you for having a different opinion than one of the popular Escapist kids.

I know nothing is being banned. TIME doesn't have that power.
However, it encourages the banning of words. If you want to just say 'I'm sick of this word' then just name the poll that instead.

Banning words is stupid in the first place. I don't care how bad, insulting, wrong etc word is or came to be. Banning it is stupid. In the end stigma might push it to the outskirts of the language but banning words goes against my beliefs.

As for the word bossy, if you can't deal with name like that growing up, i really don't want you in position of power. Leaders should be people made of sterner stuff.

OT: Didn't vote on the poll, or even go to the website, but I did manage to get a good laugh out of the whole deal. Is it possible to ban the word "ban" or just ban the act of banning altogether? Or is it easier to ban differences?

Hell, let's all be one homogenized pile of protoplasmic redundancy so no one can complain about stupid petty things that shouldn't have mattered in the first place.

Even if you didn't' think it was funny. After this you couldn't tell it was a joke?

They also wanted to switch the word "criticism" with the word "harassment" and the word "penis" with the word "rape utensil". I pointed out that the last one was actually two words, resulting in them banning me for harassment.

Pretty basic joke structure there. Or did you just not read that far? I'm not saying that to be condescending It's legitimate question.
