The only notable people I can think of who were banned were Dingo and Necro, and they were both kind of jerks.

Wait, Dingo was banned? When was this? The only thing I didn't like about him was his ongoing PS3 fanboyism, but otherwise I quite liked him and he seemed alright. Necro, too, was someone I often aggreed with, although admittedly he could occasionally be a bit of a jerk (but then, so can many other people here, who I won't mention names of). With Necro's last thread he did expose quite a lot of hypocrisy among fellow Escapists and that wasn't a bad thing, by any means. I personally don't see why he should have been banned for it. Generally, I agree with the mod's decisions because most of the time they are definitely on the ball. With Necro, however, I can't really say I agree with the Hammer useage.

Assuming that's a real question I am under the impression they were given a warning via PM for a post, and were too thick to realise that it was a mod and so started getting mouthy.

The one I will mourn if they manage to get banned is Max. I would miss him if that happened.

I feel you are in the minority - egotistical narcissistic jerkasses are a dime a dozen.

Though it's rare that they act the same in real life as they do on the webs.

Hmmm, I'd probably miss you too if you got banned. There are several people here who I quite like, Cpt. Oblivious, Sky14kemea and Geek@heart included, who I'd probably miss if they were banned. Fortunately none of those people seem the sort who'll be banned anytime soon...

i'm pretty glad that most of those "regulars" were banned. it proves the point that even though you're well liked, if you act like an idiot, you ARE going down. i can think of a few others that are also deserving of mod's wrath...

Any names? If it's who I think it is, then I can honestly say I agree (such as the 'Trinity', as I mentioned in an earlier post...). Nobody is above the wrath of the mods, no matter how many posts they have. Some seem to think that they're immune to the Hammer just because they have a lot of posts. As I recently found via a PM warning, that's not true. Nobody is immune. Simple as that.

Slightly off-topic, I heard recently someone was put on probation because they asked for it. They actually requested probation. Did anyone else hear anything about that?

See, I like Max, and agree with almost all of his posts that are on topic, but I completely agree.

I just can't stand people elevating anybody to celebrity status, online or not. It just seems sad and desperate sucking up to anybody.
