Time Travel???

If someone goes back in time does it create a new timeline parallel to our own?
Do we only have one timeline that we can royally fuck it up if we do go back?
Anyone have any sources on time travel research? All this time travel talk has me interested.

There are many theories and no one theory yet has any empirical evidence. As such this thread basically boils down to "What's your favourite Time Travel theory?"

I think you would just go into a branch of existence where your actions do take place and affect what happens. but its another branch of reality and wouldn't affect us. I also like the insubstantiality theory, if you travel back in time you cannot interact with the external environment at all.

It's still about time travel, we don't need 10 threads about time travel in one night. Also quoting yourself makes you look like a jacknob.
