The sad thing is, it's always been like this. Integrity has been dead for a long while; hell, the most popular Progressive era newspapers were mostly sensationalist bullshit. Spanish-American war anyone? Competing sensationalist headlines about the fate of the Maine and the mistreatment of Cuban natives was the main reason for U.S. citizens backing of the war.Glefistus said:I am also disgusted. People wonder why journalism is dead, and why newspapers are going out of print. Well, take a long, hard look at modern media, and you will understand why. From the competition for ratings and readership came sensationalism, and from there all hell broke loose. Nowadays with our media barons, there is no journalism, there is only criticism form either the left or the right towards each other, and biased reports. Couple that with reports on subjects the "journalist" clearly did not read up on and you have one stiff, stiff corpse.

*sigh*
Beat me to it, with extra research to boot. I salute you, sir.Treblaine said:I too am disgusted but you forgot to explicitly name and shame the hacks responsible for this shoddy excuse for journalism:
Charles Bremner and Marie Tourres
From pictures of him via google images, he looks like a sour old git and almost all the comments on his article are criticising him for focusing on the WoW angle and ignoring the more obvious factors such as home life and academic performance.
And I'm fairly sure the story about St. George and the Dragon proves that there were.SilentHunter7 said:He must be lying. Next, he's going to tell us there were no dragons, either.CantFaketheFunk said:The Middle Ages didn't have orcs??
Well the box art of the original wow was a dwarf with a gun so...hummbernthalbob616 said:Why is it that some people still think that all games involve guns and massive levels of violence?
You can tell from the fucking box art that WOW is most definately a fantasy game, and not an uber realistic FPS.
When the hell did the sun catch on fire?!? Isn't anyone going to do something about it? I mean we can bomb the moon so surely we can help the sun out.Heart of Darkness said:In other news: Water is wet. The sun is on fire. Etc.
I really hate the state of the media nowadays....
I'm pretty sure a fair number of people from the middle ages would have diagreed.CantFaketheFunk said:The Middle Ages didn't have orcs??
