Came out of a Techno nighclub in New York City to two teenagers fighting. Each had...I kid you not...a board with a nail in it and was trying to smack other one.

This was pre 9/11 so of course, a crowd had gathered to watch.

All of a sudden, one of the kids reached into the front of his pants. I grabbed my date by the arm and said "We need to go NOW!" and took off down the block.

Shortly after, we heard a CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! Little bastard had pulled out a small pistol and started firing.

By some miracle, no one was hit and the cops quickly arrived to diffuse the situation.

I think the takeaway here is: Techno is bad.

I've dodged a few.

The only one I can think of recently was that I changed sections for a math class I need to take (the reasons I switched was because I realized it would conflict with my monthly friday night LARP and decided fuck that, besides 3 hours of math in a row is a bad idea), and it turned out that teacher was shit. Just threw stuff up on the board, rambled on and on, went on too fast to pay attention and take notes at the same time. The section I swapped to at the last second is much better. The guy I have actually engages the class and explains shit.

...Actually I remember another one. I was taking a math class last winter that I got put into by the math department looking for something that counted as a required math elective (I asked what they recommended after they told me all of the other ones I wanted were full). Then, halfway in, I realized I'd never be able to pass my OpenGL class AND that math class together because of how much time the OpenGL class was taking. So I did a late drop out of the math class. And wouldn't you know it not only did I end up failing the OpenGL class regardless (so if I did bad in the math class it would have TANKED my GPA that semester), but the class didn't actually count as a math elective anyway, meaning even if I'd have passed, it would have been worthless. I was in a bad spot, but I could have been utterly screwed.

I went to MAGfest back in...I wanna say 2013 and of course, I wound up spending nearly $200 on games that I hadn't seen around anywhere. I got things like a complete copy of Mother, a complete copy of Sweet Home, a complete Famicom etc...just a lot of really cool games and whatnot. I and the people I was with were out of our room for a panel but when we got back we found that someone had been in our room. It was subtle but what gave away that somebody had been in there was the urine they'd left in the bathtub. Nothing was stolen somehow but it was still a really weird and worrying experience.
That... what... huh? I do not know what to say. Did anyone lose a key so that someone could have entered?
I'm sure we locked the door when we left that evening and since I was with a group, I left my key in the room. I have no idea how they would have gotten in...thinking about it, our room could have been connected to another room (as some are) so it's possible that THAT door wasn't locked and our "neighbor" stumbled drunkenly into our room. We changed rooms when we realized we had a visitor and we were lucky the hotel had extra accommodations.
