Timesplitters 4

Timesplitters is sheer magnificence. In my eyes, no FPS comes close to touching the majesty of Timesplitters 2 and Timesplitters: Future Perfect. I played the shit out of those for years. Hell, if I had a PS2 right now, I'd be powering it up and playing the shit out of them some more.

A good plan would to release Timesplitters 2/Future Perfect on the PC. Maybe a console HD re-release, to gauge interest. Not only would I buy those, I'd probably buy all 3 versions. Because Timesplitters is my favoritest game series ever made ever, and I would pay any amount of money for it.

That is a very good idea, I would throw money at anything Timeplitters related.

Crytek. Yes, that would work. Be nice if the game would come out, I have not played Future Perfect but I did like TS:2 a lot.

Yeah, it was one of those games overshadowed by Halo at the time, so 2 didn't get as much credit as it deserved until the Halo hype died down a bit, by then, 3 was announced.

I happened to pick up TS2 in a bargain bin, defo value for money I went and bought 3 on day 1 release. Loved both games. Didn't bother going back to play 1, wasn't really a need seeing as the plot isn't exactly one that requires backtracking.

TimeSplitters 1 didn't have a plot, it was just different people in different times running to the end of a level to get an item, then run to an exit, instead of seemingly taking over people's bodies to complete several objectives, or actually having the same character in each time period finding a reason to go to different times.

TimeSplitters 2 is, in my opinion, one of the greatest games ever to be created. FP was pretty awesome as well. So TimeSplitters 4 would totally make my day, even if I couldn't play it cause my PS3 is on the other side of the country

Timesplitters 2 & 3 were arguably the most fun I've had in an FPS ever, I can't speak for everyone of course, but to me, no shooter has come close to the laughs and fun I had in those two games, so of course it annoys me that Crytek even has to think about it.

I agree! Especially the zombie levels. Being attacked by a Giant zombie moose.

Also, me and my friends spent hours playing Virus mode. Good times.

I just hope they don't try and tone it down and make it gritty or anything. Timesplitters is meant to just be silly, crass, funny and unbelievably good fun.

Well, since the fun shooters thing is coming up again I think that its about time to start making one, even Serious Sam came back, and Duke is coming out this year so make it happen

Gonna be controversial here and say I didn't really like TS all that must. I mean sure, I had a blast with friends in the multiplayer, but the campaigns were shambolic and inconsistent, the weapons weren't (generally) odd enough to be really funky but were too arcade-y to be realistic compared to Halo. Just not my sort of game, I guess. Always felt caught between all-out nutty awesome (monkies dual wielding p90s ^_^, homing missile-packing snowmen) and a spoof of every other game, and came out the worse for it. If they'd stuck with a style and really made it solid I would have been happier - I guess it was too much of a game or something... o.0

I suppose that's why I loved it, it was the spoofs and the fact that every level was a new experience.

I love COD games, but these days I feel less inclined to get new CODs or such because it's more or less the same thing, shoot hoards of AI in different places, other then the drama going on around, there isn't much difference between levels and online games tend to be the same sort of thing.

I felt that TS provided more humour as well as a degree of skill, but most importantly, it was filled with variety. Its rare for an FPS to have colour other than brown and red blood stains, so TS was a nice alternative away from blood, gore and misery of war etc.

It is one of the few games that can get away with adding in a zombie mode without looking like an attempt to rip off COD seeing as it had zombie levels of its own all the way back to TS2, or heck an alien invasion during a zombie infestation.

No game is as bizzare and random as TS

I think there's a reason why nobody mentions the original game that much. Timesplitters needs a story, Future Perfect was a statement towards that.

I can already think of all the stupidness they could do with TS4:

- Zombie mode (Like CODs but more humourous)
- Alien invasion mode
- Aliens vs Zombies
- Pirates vs Ninjas
- Virus mode returns
- Capture the bag returns
- Monkey Fight
- Defend your base mode (There was an awesome multiplayer level like this in TS2)
- Brick fight
- Snowball fight


There are so many things they could do that would keep me addicted forever that I can't even continue ^^

I have to say i loved future perfect and TS2 spent hours playing them both with my friends couldn't get enough of them would always come down to a coin toss which one we played when future perfect came out. I do have to say TS2 was the best one yet but future perfect was so close. TS4 would be awesome to have i'd pre order it in an instant and i hate pre ordering games.

As for the story, well they don't really need to address anything to continue the plot. Just say Crowe wasn't the REAL creator of the Timesplitters, and that it was something else easy.

Oh yeah, the different styles between levels was one of the things that I thought was pretty cool, but none of the levels really felt fully realised - it all felt too much like a cardboard cutout shooter (and the wild west level didn't exactly do much to sway that image . For some reason it just felt to much more linear than many games that are arguable just the same. So yeah, not sure quite why it doesn't work for me but I think it has to do with the graphics and level design in some way :/

That have to make it, they even announced it previously but it ended up in development hell. The story's about time travel, so continuing it wouldn't be hard.
I loved Future Perfect to death, I can't wait for them to make a new one.

Who cares about any of that, man? There were WAY more multiplayer modes than any of today's shooters have. You could do damn near anything co-op or competitively.

Oh yeah, the multiplayer was great fun, no disagreements. Just saying that the campaign was flawed and more could have been done.

The Timesplitter series has easily one of the most fun multiplayer aspects of any FPS I've ever played. And if Timesplitters 4 is picked up, I just might shit my pants in excitment!

I have yet to play a game that gave me as much joy as TS2 did.

I love the create a level mode, the stupid levels I made using that just made it all the more pleasing

I made a bone like level with two turret guns on either end of the narrow hall, that was hilarious but not particularly convenient. Then there was the neon lights you could play with, make pitch black areas with no light making shooting difficult, but hilarious, the flashing lights.

Oh, and the tower of doom I made Perfect for capture the bag, one bag was upsatirs and the other downstairs.

God, I can only imagine the countless possibilities a create a level mode would offer now, just have a look at LBP for an example And as the game is cartoonified, there is no real need for textures to look 100% realistic, so they won't take up as much data and there will be more to choose from.

The first thing I'll be doing is setting up a gladiator areana to see who would win between between zombies, aliens, snowmen, gingerbreadmen, octupus men, dinosaurs and of course monkeys

Played all 3 to death... Really hope they make IV... Also hope the map maker would be limitless for once...
