Cooks are just people. They can't do everything. I'm not lazy and uncaring. I just understand that a chef can't special order the 30 or so plates that he's trying to cook.
There sure as hell *CAN*! How do you think I get my fries when I go to restaurants? I ORDER THAT WAY!!I have been ordering my fries that way for at least 5-6 YEARS and get it the way "I" want. That's how it's supposed to be to get what you want for your money.

They can do ANYTHING the customer wants them to do, so shut up, you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

The *CUSTOMER* rules the show, NOT THE COOK!

You are lazy if you think that it's OK not to do what the customer wants. That would be your job as a cook.

I usually don't tip here in australia because everyone earns at least minimum wage. I do let them keep the change if i'm paying with a note or if they've had excellent service

I'm not sure I'm with you here. Common courtesy is phrasing your order politely eg. "Could I have a medium rare stake please?" rather than "Medium rare stake! Now!!". Common courtesy is not giving everyone you speak to money.
That's what I meant; tipping is great and all, but just being polite is important, too. That's a really obvious thing to say, yeah, but a lot of people are real assholes to waiters, regardless of service.

I do, however, shower money on everyone I meet, but I realize I may be alone in this.
