i have had the original PSP for 3 years now (i think) and i have never had any problems. I also think - well i know - that it has much better graphics than the pixely DS, and is more of a mini PS2/3 than a hand held :)

Get the white PSP 3000. PSP Go! is a terrible waste of money...

Also, get Gran Turismo PSP, Vice City Stories and WipEout Pulse. The latter being one of my personal favourite games ever.

Get the PSP 3000
Get Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Get Dissidia Final Fantasy
Get Wild Arms

That's my advice =D

Depending on the games you play, the Psp Go button layout is terrible. (I'm looking at you, Monster Hunter games)

So personally, I'd go for something older.
There's not much difference between the Phat and Slim psp's except the Slim ones feel a bit less solid and reliable to me.
But getting a proper working Phat psp might be difficult or expensive.

Regardless of whatever special offers are thrown at you, do not buy a PSP GO under any circumstances. Any percieved saving you make will be wiped out by the first game you purchase and only made worse by any games you buy after that.

PSP3000 models are retty good, plus you get a physical copy of the game when you buy it and you can use the second hand market.

Well, don't get the "go" unless you don't mind having to download ALL your games off PSN. Also, once you do get one, you should be careful not to ruin the screen, scratches easily.

1. Go to game shop
2. Pick up PSP
3. Go to counter
4. Give money to man
5. ???
6. PROFIT!!!

...Or buy a DS.

Had 2 PSPs. UMD drive died on the first, and I hear the drive failures are more common than you'd like. Also, most of the games are watered down console game ports.

I much prefer my DS.

I usually just use them as demos. Plus there are some visual novel homebrews... anyway.

Make a PS2p!

That is the most awesome handheld I've ever seen.

I'm currently on my 3rd PSP, the keyboard on the first one eventually broke and went insane, I got the second one a bit too wet and it started sparking at me, hasn't worked since. Though the library of games isn't that big, there are some very awesome games on it, just avoid the PSPGo. I'd suggest anything with Final Fantasy in the name if you like RPGs along with Star Ocean: First Departure and Star Ocean: Second Evolution, especially the second one, even if you don't like RPG's because that game is amazing. <3

Well, here's a small list of things I tried and liked:

-Syphon Filter Dark Mirror & Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow
-God of War: Chains of Olympus
-Resistance: Retribution
-Tekken Dark Resurrection (cuz Tekken 6 sucks)
-Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories and Liberty City Stories
-Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier
-Tomb Raider: Anniversary
-Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
-Dissidia: Final Fantasy
-Wipeout Pure
-Burnout Legends

The PSP model before Go! and Gran Turismo PSP = Epic win.
I've got it myself, and the Gran Turismo graphics are about the same as the graphics in Gran Turismo 4 on the PS2. Love it.
