While it looks good and I've heard good things about it, I won't be trying it out? because of EA. Regardless of what EA's influence has been to the game (as others have pondered), it's still an EA game, and I've totally lost faith in them with all the crap they've pulled in the past few years.

I'm rather impressed with it. The Beta has a very limited selection of equipment and abilities, however. What I do like is that when they claimed they have effectively overlapped two seperate games, they are indeed right. Titan fights and building-hopping do feel like two separate (but overlapping) adventures.

My chief gripe with it is how they claimed to intergrate story elements into a PvP FPs experiance. Interesting idea of which I have seen none of so far. I assume more will make sense come luanch, however.

If they ever give me a way to get this on PC without Origin then I would buy it. I have heard good things from the developer and discovered it is not actually a game made by EA.

The gameplay I have seen in Angry Joes video of it looks really good as well. I think I would enjoy it and i'd like to get it but im not putting Origin on my computer yet. Guess i'll wait and see if anything else comes up with it, im hoping they give me a good enough reason to get origin for it.

To be honest, I havent seen EA's touch in the game at all... there is no in game micro transaction button (yet), I got a key from EA help, dedicated servers seem to be in the pipe for the game, seems EA are giving this game as much chance of becoming the next CoD class franchise they are not messing with the design at all... maybe with the sequel ?

I had only 1 CTD and very few issues so far in the game technically speaking, and a few gripes about the actual gameplay.

Rodeo'ing Titans is pretty cheap, basically if a Pilot can jump onto your Titan and press E, you either have to get out and kill the Pilot ASAP or lose the Titan (or swap out Shield for Electric Smoke)... and as exiting your Titan has a animation with the vision orientation jarring its damn hard to get a bearing on where the enemy is as you exit.

The Smart pistol is a stupid addition, honestly you just need to keep the target in a huge reticle and wait for 3 very quick lockons for a kill... while your enemy will be trying to get a small cursor on you as you hop and jump around.
The only 2 defences are to kill the smart pistol user in that tiny window where they are waiting for the 3 lockons, or be near cover to line of sight them... you cant dodge the fire and after the third lockon you are dead automatically.

The game though is great fun at the moment, and you really do feel empowered no matter what the situation...there is no , oh shit Titan I cant do a thing... you can escape with cool jumps and parkour, you can whip out Anti Titan weapons and fight back or even try climb up the thing and take it down... but the Titans are not lumbering slow machines that cant move fast enough to track Pilots, you can dash and run about rapidly and keep a bead on your nimble targets... no excuse.

The ambiance is worth noting with all the radio chatter and the AI bots doing their own thing underfoot, the combat officer always pointing out things of importance and letting you know the situation, hell even the start and ending of the battles is pretty ambient with you jumping out a dropship and later pursuing survivors / escaping a battle zone... its all quiet satisfying.

Game is alright, price is fucking ridiculous. When there are free to play shooters out there like Planetside 2, TF2, Hawken, etc, which are of similar quality and can be less repetitive, charging £45 for a digital version of Titanfall is retarded.

If it was free to play with a few reasonable micro-transactions, or £20 all in, I'd be all over it. As it is, I'll make the most of the beta and then wait for a price cut.

On the one hand, the first 10 minutes I played the game were pretty fun.

On the other hand, after 10 minutes of playing the game, a capacitor on my video card exploded...

Further research is required....

Thank you. It's good to know that while a company can promote preorders and cheap mobile cash-ins, the people who work for them occasionally show decency.

That said, it really shouldn't be commendable that a dev has to remind people to look before they buy, but such is the state of gaming.

Well the guy gets points for his honesty at least to me. But it is kinda weird he's having to remind people its a beta so shit is not going to be perfect. And having to remind ppl how to shop......wow. I thought it was pretty basic, but apparently if you dont like somthing you dont HAVE to buy it on faith lol WTF this world.

TF2 yeah I can see that being a possibility given the sometimes rare drops and finds every once in a blue moon, Planetside 2 however can fuck off for it's grind phase or giving into buying station cash.

I'd rather pay for this and have the entire game and no slog or worry to pour more cash into the game ebcause it had a shtity revised F2P model, hell even GW2's model is just as good but F2P doesn't automatically mean instant best game for everyone.

thats pretty honest of them. i personally have a blast as well with the game. but agreed, the waiting time is pretty long but at the same time its also pretty useful if you want to check out the new upgrades you have earned and use them immediately like the burn cards.

i have pre ordered it since its for 10% off and no regrets.

The game is really fun, but I will take his word to not buy on faith. I think I'll hold off on Titanfall until a few weeks down the line just so my friends get used to it and I know all the full game content.

It's really nice that they're being so honest, as well. I always did like IW before the split (though I didn't like MW2).

I am surprised that nobody that's played this on the xbox one has mentioned one of the games glaring flaws; Frame rate issues. At times of semi-intense action the frame rate drops into the toilet for 10-30 seconds or more making the game almost unplayable. The smart-pistol was mentioned, that thing can fuck right off. I am also surprised that no mention of Respawn/EA sanitizing their forums, or Facebook page, has been mentioned. Don't try to mention your concerns, or anything other than positive feedback on the game or it will get sent to internet trashcan.

Honestly, it really is moar of the dutiez. These people didn't learn a thing from CoD4 or MW2. It really is the same unbalanced, hideously OP'ed weapons and "perks" that dominated those games. The 2 maps from the beta are rubbish, so they also didn't learn how to make decent maps at all. Burn Cards, yeah, some of those give will give players huge (almost insurmountable) advantages over the rest of the players in game. In reality, there are a lot of interesting ideas in Titanfall; the execution and implementation is terrible though and completely unbalance the game. This really is a game where players that play the longest are going to kick the ever loving crap out of others.

A refreshingly open comment from a designer; seems odd though that such common sense as "If you don't like the game, don't buy it" is worthy of a news article. As for the game itself, it looks rather cool but tragically I am far too poor to have a next-generation console and will probably only be able to pick this up when the fourth sequel is announced for the PS5.
When things like early-access, awful preorder bonuses, and stuff like... well, Colonial Marines... ANY kind of developer interaction that isn't "Shut up, buy the game you cow with a wallet" is depressingly refreshing.

Annnnnd this is why a lot of people used to say they liked the Infinity Ward CoD's better. "Used to" as in "They used to say that before most of IW's team split off to form Respawn."

You really have to respect a developer that says not to simply buy their product on faith and brand association alone, but to give it an honest try and if you don't like it then fair enough. This is opposed to the developer comments during the Battlefield 4 beta in which they responded to all the complaints/criticisms by saying "You're all full of shit, our game is fucking awesome!"

That is a very sensible thing to say especially for a dev on the front line of this cut throat business, sadly everyone will ignore his advice and buy the game on sheer hype that has been going on non stop since the closed beta started.

And 8 years from now gamers will lament over all the Titanfall sequels and clones, completely forgetting they started the problem by fanatically pouring absurd amounts of money into creating that very scenario.

Talk about refreshing, for once a dev actually acknowledging problems with their game and warning people to maybe wait and see how it turns out before buying it, good on him!

If you have a 360 you can wait like me. :) I generally don't like shooters. Especially the gray brown ones but this looks fun enough and since they are putting it on the 360 as well as the bone it gives me an excuse to put off buying that black VCR even longer.

I'm not buying because it's publisher by EA and EA is on my blacklist for fucking up Command and Conquer, Dead Space and Simcity. I wouldn't be surprised if EA starts meddling with Respawn's baby and fucks it up also.

There's supposed to be a series of modes or features under "Campaign Multiplayer".

My guess is it's a series of narrative driven solo or co-op multiplayer missions.

Guess we'll know more come March 11th.

And more than that, they're evening telling disinterested parties to contact Respawn, EA, and Microsoft to inform them as to why they don't like the game.

How rare is that nowadays? Not only is Respawn telling people to not buy the game blindly, but they're also asking people to tell them how they fucked it up.

Not to mention they're apparent revulsion at the ideas of micro-transactions and monthly map-packs.

Seriously, the more these guys speak up the more respect I have for them.
