as an adult!

I've decided to go back to being eight years and whit the the duties involved in this.

I could go to McDonald's and think that I am sitting on a four-star restaurant.

I will let pins sail the race in a brook, and I want to build a castle of old cartons.

I would like to believe that non-stop is more fun than money since you can actually eat them.

I want to sit under a big oak with some buddies and sell juice to passers-by a hot summer day.

I will return to a time when life was simple and easy to live, as it mostly was about the color, strange rhymes and rules, and very little concern, since you did not know what you did not know and you did in all least not about that.
You could be just happy because you were happily ignorant of everything that might make you anxious or worried.

I would think that the world is one big carnival.
That all men are to be trusted, good and honest.

I would like to believe that anything is possible.

I could close my eyes for what is hard and heavy, and I will be happy and excited about things again.

I want to live simply and easily again.

I do not want my day to consist of computer breakdowns, mountains of paper work, depressing news, trying to survive several days each month than there is money, bills, gossip, illness and loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in laughter, hugs, kind words, truth, justice, peace, dreams, looking forward to the snow and on the imagination.

Yes, this is so my bank card, my credit card, car keys and my papers.
I leave the position as an adult as of today.
If you for some reason you wish to discuss this with me, then you have to catch my first, so .....
"Take me if you can!"

Being a little kid was awesome. You were more or less oblivious to all the troubles of the world. It truly was a case of "Ignorance is Bliss".

I loved being a kid now that I look back on it, as most people do.

My 9 year old neice told me yesterday that she wished she was 17 like me and it took me by surprise, I didn't even get to tell her that she should enjoy staying young. Not that she would've listened, most kids don't when they're told that. I sure didn't.

While that all might seem nice at first glance, you forget the downsides: your play-buddy won't let you play with his toys, your parents make you clean up your room, you have to eat that disgusting spinach, and so on.

Now you'll say "but that's nothing compared to the woes of everyday struggle", but there you'd be wrong: as a kid, all this stuff is terrible. Why? Because it's the worst that's ever happened to you (if that's even the case, I'd rather not start with parents' divorce, human trafficking, child abuse and so on).

Being a child was fun and times were simpler. But then i grew up and got some responsibilities and whilst i still act like a child at times i know what i have to do.

While I really like my life as it is now, and am not nostalgic in the slightest, I sometimes would like to be able to take a day to relax in a sunbeam without my brain constantly throwing up a "Shit you have to do" list.

Are you guys kidding me?

When I was a kid, as with many of you, there were rules. Bedtime, what we could eat, where we had to go at what time, etc. I for one am glad to be an adult. Yes I have responsibilities just like all of you, there are a lot of benefits too.
I pay the bills, sure; but I also can play video games as much as I want.
I have work; but when work ends, I leave and go home and do whatever I'd like.
I have to watch what I eat, but if I feel like indulging one night because I had a rough day or drink myself into a stupor, I can do it.
When a kid brags to me about what they can do that I can't, I remind them that I can drive legally with no problems of reaching the gas pedal.
So no, I don't wish I was a child again. I wish I could go back sometimes and fix some things that I did stupidly as a child and a teenager, but comparing my life as a child to my life as an adult, I'd choose the latter any day of the week.

Isn't this what kids are for? You've got an excuse to go do all the stupid stuff you did as a kid again, and this time its called "good parenting"!

Acting like a kid, it seems you are also able to disregard basic rules of grammar and spelling.

Though, speaking of which, I must go, as it appear some people are setting off fireworks outside. How interesting....

I've always had this fantasy of reliving my childhood, but keeping all my memories from life until now. Always seemed like a good idea on paper, know what I did 'wrong' before and beat the system and all.

But the more thought I put into it, the more I realized I'd probably just be the world's most depressed and cynical 9-year old.

As most of my childhood involved being horribly bullied at school then coming home to my parents screaming down the phone at eachother and then at me, I think I'll remain happily at 29 for now.

I wish I could be a child again, but I have solace in the fact that now, I'm a little older and a bit more mature so I can appreciate the great things in life a little more.

Though I'm really looking forward to retirement, that's just the best of both worlds!

When you're young, all you want to do is grow older. (to be free from your parents' rule, get your drivers license, drink alcohol, get respected a an adult, whatever)

As you grow older, all you want is to be young again. (to not have to pay your bills, to have simple classes in school, to not have to worry about employment of money etc.)

There's only one thing true through all ages, cultures, religions and gender. People always nag about what they don't have rather than enjoying what they do have.

I'm quite content with my rational, grown-up mind. I often wish I could go back, but only if I knew then what I know now. Maybe then my childhood wouldn't have sucked so much.

I can see why you'd wanna go back, but I did not enjoy my childhood much. The cons outweighed the pros 10/1 for me.
