So yeah, the other night I was playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 and I lost the plot and kind of screwed my controller (not sexually before you make that assumption) out of commission. So yeah I am kinda selling my Xbox 360, not really out of stupid malice for the damned machine but I am slightly sick of the Xbox and I actually prefer PC gaming albeit the troubleshooting.

This sounds so silly but I think it would be best to ask you guys whether I'm right in the head doing this? I work your normal average job, I am an avid reader and I use my PC a lot for various hobbies (forums, mixing music playlists, etc) so I won't be stuck for things to do. Nonetheless I just wanted to know what you guys thought as fellow 360 users and/or PC users?

P.S. I'm not looking for views and stuff I just want answers and opinions, cheers

From my experience, if a game is on both platforms, the PC playerbase is often better (I'm looking at you xbox live -.-)

It also depends on your computer I suppose.

All depends on personal pref'. I prefer PC because its a shit-ton easier with FPS games with a mouse and you dont have screaming children down the end of the microphone like what I've seen on Xbox Live.

Also, customizable games on PC (aka Modding) is also fun.

Troubleshooting is less of an issue than it ever used to be (as long as your rig isn't pure unadulterated crap). Plus, there's a ton of great exclusives to look for (Titan Quest!) and modding.

You'll enjoy yourself.

Modding, generally better service(not counting CoD series), generally better control, a backlog of games probably half as long as a phone book, and so on.

You'll probably get more of a bang for your buck with PC gaming, but sometimes console games are better to work with. It varies from game to game.

I've literally just done what you said, and although PCs need more support, you get more in depth games, a higher quantity and cheaper. Even with my mega computer (relatively), when smoke or particle effects fill the screen, it has a bit of a fit, but I really enjoy it. There is more to killing an AI on PC than on console, and the easy of control improves a lot. However, I would not want to play something where you need to adjust small degrees, i.e. Ace Combat, as while the mouse gives you good reactions, WASD is not as proficient at moving as an analogue stick, as it is binary - either pressed or not pressed. A

But overall, I would say go for it. I think I will sell my 360 (to my brother ;]) to upgrade my graphics card from 512 to 1G, and cram 7 on a hard drive at some point, so I can get Direct X 11.

Screw that. Minecraft, Steam, and Gog.com will give you more than enough gaming to last until Direct X 12.

Well the problem is I would have to purchase a desktop computer. I would love to play the likes of Bad Company 2 on the PC (regardless of the anger issues that come with FPS online, though to be fair I think laggy connections contribute to 99% of the crap that happens on Xbox Live eg. I shot him five times then he kills me with a pistol etc).

I have chosen a terrible time to do this as the VAT has gone up in the UK (yeah cheers Cameron, tell me what side of your arse would you like to rub my £100 tax charge with?) and it will cost another 100 pound than normal. If I could just get one that will run the likes of Battlefield Bad Company and Dead Space 2 (I know kill me I like the series) on the PC I will be a happy bunny.

This is my laptop I use for my current PC gaming:
Pentium Dual Core CPU T4300 @ 2.10 GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
ATI Radeon HD 4330
(And apparently...) 4096 RAMM

This is from the DxDiag diagnostic tool so yeah.

Thanks guys/Gals btw who posted :)
