I am looking to take an onine course in game design, but I don't know where to go.
As the Escapist is filled with thousands of die-hard gmers such as myself, I thought that I might ask the opinion of the masses.
Any reccommendations? Where can I find a good online game design course?

To be honest...I don't think game design is something you can learn just through one course.

A good choice would be to take a course in C or C++, but I'd also suggest getting a book to help you and to actually try coding a few things. If you can get a book that comes with a compiler, that would work.

You may also want to take a look at what courses your local community college/university offers in game design, and try to take courses there in a few years.

Game design is something you spend several years studying. I'm working on a master's degree in it at SCAD right now.

Step 1: Find [http://lmgtfy.com/?q=C%2B%2B+tutorial] a programming language tutorial. C++ seems to be the industry standard.
Step 2: Play Half-Life 2: Episode One. Take notes on its design.
Step 3: Read the notes you made in step 2. Do the opposite of what you wrote.
