It turns out your beloved, handsome, sexy friend Curtmiester is going on a little trip around the world to Australia for his birthday. Whoo! But now I have the problem of coming up with ideas of things to DO into in Australia. So I have come up with a few ideas on my own (All those unoriginal ones like seeing the Great Barrier Reef) but I need a few more. So if you have not figured out what I'm going to ask by now...what the hell?

P.S I need ideas of things to do in Australia. I will be moving between Sydney and Melbourne. So things close to that area would be nice, but any suggestions will be a great help.

P.P.S For added topic (and stuff for people who don't live or haven't been to Australia) What's one of your favorite vaction memories? Any memory or place will do.

Do the bridge climb if you're in Sydney, it's great fun.

Also, don't fuck with the wildlife. Dingos, emus, kangaroos or platypuses will kick your arse.

Avoid the spiders, seriously those things are so big they have their own damned health bars.

OMGOMGOMG come to Brisbane, Queensland. Yahtzee is here! You can climb our Story bridge (instead of the sydney harbour bridge, soz guys) feed wild birds (rosellas) at "O'Reillys" (Lamington National Park), visit the GOLD COAST (maybe try surfing!) and if you're daring go to fraser island or moreton island (Wouldn't be much of a vacation if you spent it in the city, eh) which is much more holiday-like, be sure to bring a big flat piece of scrap wood (I dunno. Destroy someone's tin shed or something) and go sand surfing (kinda like toboganing but on sand and on your stomach on a board), try beach fishing, or fishing from a boat...SO MUCH TO DO! or maybe stay at a holiday lodge, but I have to warn you, don't go diving/snorkeling in summer, that's jellyfish season. Heck, don't come in summer, we hit 40 degrees sometimes, and our mosquitoes are psycho.
I dunno what you like, are you an indoors person, outdoors, winter, summer... Our winters get quite cold too, so maybe pick autumn or spring o_O

If you're stopping off in Canberra at all we have an art museum, a museum museum, questacon, and a war memorial.

And... our federal government. Yeah.

Ya those things are huge and can take you out in like an hour if you don't get any medical attention. I would say swing by Michael Atkinson's house and throw a molotov cocktail through his window while yelling "I just beat up a hooker and now I'm taking you down! Grand Theft Auto is my LIFE!"

Pretty sure there's nothing else to do in canberra except give all our 12 year old children an overpriced history lesson o_O
But if you go to canberra take some time to admire how clean the streets are. OUR TAXES PAID FOR THAT!

Bah its not that bad. I'm sure Mick Gatto is a lovely bloke. And funnily enough the first series got banned here. I wonder why.

if you do go to the beaches on the gold coast and sunshine coast etc etc

please be careful in the shallows and rockpools. don't touch cone shells, don't stick your hand into any burrows or holes, wear thongs if you're walking in rocky tidal areas (fuck stonefish).
on the beach you'll be fine, just when you go exploring or whatever.

What to do depends on your taste, there's craploads of options. I'm a Melbournian so I'll list osme things worth doing within the victorian state border.

-Torquay surf beaches, and the great ocean road in general
-Grampians mountain range for nature walks and such
-camping along the murray river (anywhere really, it's all pretty similar)
-cafes and resturants in carlton, lonsdale st is pretty popular
-if you have too much money, the resturants at southbank (across the yarra river from flinders st in the melbourne CBD)
-Experiencing a country pub is always worth doing, there are also some pretty good clubs around town, especially in fitzroy and the inner norther suburbs
-Go to the cricket or football (AFL). If possible, bay 13 on boxing day for the cricket would be an experience (though expect a rough crowd, it's pretty wild).
-The royal botanical gardens are probably worth seeing
-Wine tasting (I'm not much of a wine drinker, but it's very popular). On that note any microbrewery in the state, I'm a particular fan of both beechworth and redhill microbreweries.

Well, that's my short list off the top of my head, if you get through all that and get bored feel free to PM me and I'll dream up some other things to see.

That's in the middle of nowhere!
Can you imagine?
"Day 1. Saw red dirt. Got smashed."
"Day 2. Nursed hangover. Saw more dirt. Got smashed again."
"Day 3. Died from boredom"
