A Hermit's Cave
Not that it really matters, but just a random thought:

What should we do with all those victory memorials? Is it even politic to have them about?

I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying that victory memorials are celebrating war?

Confuzzled and such. What are you trying to say? We should get rid of memorials to people who died in war and potentially those for other disasters/atrocities/tragedies in the belief that they celebrate war?

You ever look at the Vietnam Memorial in DC, USA?

You see that slab-like wall stretching from the left too the center of the photo? That's the memorial. Just a long wall with the names of those KIA and MIA.

Now I ask you: does that celebrate war?

War memorials are not there to celebrate war.

They are not there to celebrate the causes of war.

They are there to remember the people who fought in war. Because lest we forget about the cost of it.

We should keep them around, just cus they look cool.

Plus as the above post says its there to remember the dead, the ones lost.

I remember going there and the Arlington Cemetery. Literally the most somber experience of my life.

It's not about Vietnam, but it's a great song that can be applied to the fallen in any war.

Would all the war memorials in the world balanced on top of each other really be appropriate in this political climate?

We should have more wars in order to build memorials in poorly-touristed areas in order to prop up their economies.

EDIT: Also, yes, the Vietnam memorial is gorgeous.
