Why today is the 250th anniversary of the sandwich[footnote]The sandwich has actually been around for more than 250 years, but it was on this day 250 years ago that having meat between two slices of bread actually became known as a "sandwich," named after the Earl of Sandwich.[/footnote].

Kind of poetic that it falls on Mother's Day isn't it?
