So, after the surprise that was Legend in that Crystal Dynamic actually made a decent game, is anyone here going to be picking up the new one?

I probably will, despite how hellishy console-like it felt on PC.

Opinions...GO!

That the new one? Played the demo, was pretty average, more of the same stuff as usual. Wasn't expecting anything particularly original from Tomb Raider at this point. Wasn't a fan of the combat which had me doing three dodge rolls, firing two shots, three dodge rolls, two shots etc. etc. on the tigers. Very tedious. Despite that, the platforming seemed mostly solid with only one or two "leap of faith" jumps in the demo and it wasn't a bad game for a pick up and play. From the demo I wouldn't recommend anything above renting it though. I completed the last Tomb Raider game in one night. ;/

I might, eventually. The last one didn't last long enough to justify the price tag. I didn't like the combat either.

I'll agree with you on the length, was pretty disappointed that I belted through it in 8-10 hours, as Last Revelation had me going for weeks. Once I got into it, the story of Legend was pretty cool, and I hear that Underworld will be a bit darker (seeing as the story is a continuation of Legend, I hear, so you go and get Lara's mother from Avalon) if what I read is true.

For me the platforming made up for the combat, and it's a very pretty game.

I find it very miscreantious of the Developers to feature the advertising focusing squarely on Lara's breasts.

I hit that up on Dictionary.com to see no results. I assume it's born from "miscreant" though?

As for your point Mr. Anarch, sex sells whether you like it or not. Even if it is pixellated sex.

It's why we wasted all that time trying to get our people in The Sims to bone.
Did we?
I didn't. Making them set off fireworks indoors, killing them all in a big blaze was what I spent a while doing. That and using lots of genie lamps.

On a side note, does the Sims 2 not have any genie lamps. I've just borrowed it from a friend and can't find it.

Anyways, on topic, I haven't liked Lara since I actually started playing the games rather than just watching them being played.
I liked putting them in swimming pools and taking away the ladders.
I am so cruel.

I turned a noun into an adjective.

I never picked up a Tomb Raider game, and this one doesn't really peak my interest. So no, I won't be buying it. Only so many games you can buy, you know?

Played the demo and I thought it was surprisingly good. They've been a bit hit and miss lately, but this one seems a return to form. It looks absolutely stunning too; kicking tigers to death has never been so enjoyable. I took me a little while to get a hang of the twitchy controls though.
Don't know how thrilled I am with them putting a motorbike level in there; I never liked the driving levels in the previous games.

The motorbike level on the last one was alright, but obviously the benchmark for TR vehicle levels is Venice from TR2.

I think the franchise suffered a lot when AoD was released, it was bugged to hell, failed at establishing RPG elements and was just lacklustre in every department.

That it was; however the one that really caused me to lose interest was Tomb Raider: Chronicles. It seemed like a hodge-podge of levels they couldn't throw in during the previous games.

Does it countinue the story of Tomb Raider: Legend?

I will goddamned mutiny if it doesn't finish that f**king cliffhanger.

From the demo I believe it does. Assuming I'm thinking of the right Tomb Raider: Legend and I haven't gotten myself mixed up.
