Top Ten Videogame Rentals of 2008 Revealed

Microsoft [http://www.rentrak.com/section/homent/industry/index.html].

The ESRB [http://www.xbox.com].

Left unspoken is the fate of the PlayStation 3 [http://www.playstation.com], which obviously lost significant ground in the rental market. While it might be possible to spin it as not entirely negative due to the fact that game rentals don't actually benefit anyone but the company doing the renting, the inescapable truth is that reduced rentals is an all-but-direct indicator of reduced interest in the system.

The full Top Ten Rented Games of 2008 list, based on consumer spending, is as follows:

1. Grand Theft Auto IV - Xbox 360
2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Xbox 360
3. Halo 3 - Xbox 360
4. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - Xbox 360
5. Army of Two - Xbox 360
6. Mario Kart Wii - Wii
7. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Wii
8. Fallout 3 - Xbox 360
9. Assassin's Creed - Xbox 360
10. Mario Party 8 - Wii

I wouldn't have rented ANY of these games on either platform. Also, they let you rent Mario kart?

why isnt fallout 3 higher on the list
Probably because it's such a huge game with so many hours worth of playing time to devote to it, people wouldn't see the point in having it for only a couple of days.

I actually liked Army of Two. It was a fun game so long as you had a friend around, because the A.I. partner was awful. I felt it was overall a good game though.

Some people are just weird.
If I were *Insert rental company here* I wouldn't rent out peripherals with my games.

You don't need any for Mario Kart.
I know but it's just not Mario Kart Wii without the wheel and it would feel strange to just hold the controller sideways.

Try the nunchuck/wiimote combo. Enjoy.
