I've just finished playing through the demo for Torchlight and I'll likely be buying it tomorrow, depending on finance and all that bollocks.

I'm just wondering what mods people would recommend. I know there's loads out there and I've had a quick browse, but I'm struggling to sort out the decent ones from the ones that'll break everything and make the textures pink. Any suggestions about good ones would be much appreciated.

Handy link to a torchlight mods manager [http://www.devsource.de/torchleech/].

I currently have...

From Runic themselves.
Respecs mod.
Ferret pet mod, as I don't like the cat and want something different for my 2nd character.
Some more map scrolls to be bought.
A bee spell like the one in bioshock where you summon bees at people.

From the community.
A mix of High level map scrolls, and some maps that add more map parts to the main dungeon.
And just some punching bags placed in town to hit with weapons for the sake of hitting things in town.

All of these work fine together. I'll find links for them if you want.

Edit: I'm thinking about learning to mod with this game, so anything anyone who doesn't want to have a go themselves think is necessary? Was going to add keymap support as I wanted to use my other mouse buttons but it seems like some one has just made that... :p

Thanks, that mod manager looks fantastic. Don't worry about finding links, although if you could point me in the direction of the ones Runic made I'd be very thankful.

I'm quite excited to buy this game, I'm getting massive nostalgia attacks about Diablo II. Even the control scheme and hotkeys are the same.

When you buy it you don't have to restart, your save bumps over. :)

The ones by Runic can be found...
Ferret pet [http://www.runicgamesfansite.com/torchlightmods/node/390]
Bee Spell [http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=2950]
Map "type" Pack [http://www.runicgamesfansite.com/torchlightmods/node/61] Edit: Wrong map pack... oops.
Respec Potions [http://www.runicgamesfansite.com/torchlightmods/node/134]

Edit 2: Those mods are included with the editor, the people have just claimed them as their own... A few are labelled correctly.

Your save jumps over?! That's brilliant. Thanks for all your help.

Yeah I was well happy about the save going from demo to retail.

There's a Diablo interface mod to make it look feel even more like Diablo, but I was never into it so don't use it.
