Boy was B.F. Skinner a great man. Not only has given us one of the most important theoretical pillars in the Operant Conditioning practice, but also the starting point of an Extra Credits episode [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/2985-Gamification] and most importantly, we can act like dicks for our own amusement and cite him as the hypothesis of an otherwise beneficial scientific endeavor.

What I want to say is that I've been playing Rebecca Black's "Friday" really loudly next to my girlfriend's ear every time she doesn't feel like waking up.

Now I know some of you won't agree with the aforementioned doing anyone's life easier, but my gal is waking up faster every time I play it. I'll maybe end castrated by next month, but hey, 30 minutes extra every day so I can enjoy my cup of coffee.

So I wanted to ask you all fellow Escapists, what creative methods of torture or reward are you using to make your everyday life better?

I had a friend shoot me in the face with a supersoaker during a summer once so I would get up and have fun. It sucked but it was good for me.

I gave you explicit instructions to NOT look for it. I even gave people a heads up spoiler later in the thread with what it was about.

Jesus, we can definitely say that schrodinger's cat is dead without looking at it. Curiousity killed it.

OT: Depends what you consider torture I feel terrible when my dog does something bad and I have to shut her in the kitchen for a bit because shes such a social dog and hates being alone.

Well I used to let the most difficult and annoying dishes to do stand for my little sister, who is lazy as fuck. I did that so often that she's lightning fast with dishes now, meaning I barely have to do anything.

This version is perfect:
You can just see him there, walking sloooowly towards her with that big purple grin on his face, step by step, getting his "hug".
