This has probably been done before, but nothing was on the first page after using the search bar, so......

Have you ever heard a piece of music that has just totally blown you away? As in almost literally firing synapses, making the hairs on the back of your neck stand up etc? Possibly envoking the slightest bit of nostalgia?

I just got it when I first heard this piece:

The strangest part is, I'm all for listening to all types of music. Although, I'm primarily a metal head, but I found this song about 30 mins ago and have listened to it about 10 times. Totally blown away.

List any similar experiences you may have had like this with music :) Or indeed games or movies :)

Bat For Lashes-Sad Eyes and I Saw A Light. Neither of them are singles, so unfortunately I can't link, but when I first heard them I just thought 'Wow'; they even brought tears to my eyes. Artistically she is way beyond anyone in my music collection.

Cry of the Black Birds, by Amon Amarth. The first time I heard it I wanted to grab a sword, mount the nearest horse, yell a war cry and ride into battle haha.

Also the Karelia Suite by Sibelius. (dunno if that's it's full/ proper name, don't know much about classical music) SO much power! If you turn it up loud it'll blow you away.

Depends on the type of music you like. I love stoner rock and a song which grabbed me by the balls is Los Natas-Meteoro 2020. It's just a superb piece of music with the guitars slowly meandering their way into a wall of sonic sludge. Amazing,. Worth watching the video on youtube with the wolves running. It's cool.

But on the classical music front it has to be Edvard greig's Morning.

Or maybe hall of the mountain king

Unfortunately nothing is capable of blowing me away, startling me or expanding my mind. I am stuck in an endless state of perfection.

The opera song from the Fifth Element. I thought it was amazing and it still gives me chills whenever I hear it.
