I don't know about you guys but I am not a fan of touch screens. Oh sure, the novelty of it is fun but when it comes to typing in texts or more complex tasks that require multiple button pushes my friends with iPhones moan constantly. I like buttons. I like knobs. I want to be able to know what I'm doing without looking at a screen to make sure I'm doing it. So I'm totally against what I've seen in the new Windows 8 reveals.[footnote]I'm sticking with 7. No more money from me for awhile, you hear that Microsoft?[/footnote]

Anyway, what do you think of touch screens and their popularity? I never was that excited about them and I certainly would prefer something with tactile feedback now.

Before I go to sleep, I just want to add I'm probably just going to comment on threads now... Making threads for Off Topic just isn't rewarding anymore.

Touch screens are personally just as big a gimic as 3D TV. Though everything will be in touch screen soon enough, it's just a waste of time.

Not only can you see the oil on your finger residue but it also gives the feeling of jus plain dirty compaired to a regular keyboard. You also can do things correctly on a keyboard as opposed to touch screen. Faulty readings and wrong keys are so rare on keyboards, it's not even worth mentioning.

Just a gimic for silly kids to enjoy
