I gave the search a quick going over and I didn't spot anything like this, but if there is, I apologise and the mods can happily close/delete this.

So anyway. I was in my local supermarket today, got some stuff and went up to pay, but on the way something caught my eye. A remote controlled micro helicopter. Impulsively I just grabbed it and continued on to the check out. Sure I got an odd look from the lady on the counter, but I suppose being 18 and buying toys like this will get me that. I got it home, opened it up and went wild with it, most fun I've had in a long wile, making my own little missions and stuff up.

So I ask you all, do you have any gadgets? Have you ever brought a toy like that? Any favourites you've had in the past or perhaps always wanted?

Now you've made me want a remote controlled helicopter, damn you. I bought a remote control car a while ago, really cheap old thing but still great fun before the cheap plastic gave up from the rough, wet ground. Wales is not a forgiving place for small toy cars.

Wales you say? I'm in Powys, didn't think I'd find another Welshman here, and yeah, you think it's bad for cars? my poor helicopter didn't stand a chance outside :(

And you've made me want a remote control car.

Does a computer or PS3 or PS2 count as a toy? I have a Gameboy(original) a Gameboy(color) and a Gameboy Advance(XP).

Has anybody tried out the keypad for the PS3 dualshock controler?

I want a remote controlled toy now...

I haven't bought anything silly like that in a while, but I did only buy the phone I have because of the red bits.

Well, your remote controlled helicopter reminds me of a purely plastic one i had. You put it on some handle, then pulled a string to get the propeller spinning and off it went before crashing down in 3 or so seconds.

I spent a lot of time adjusting the force of my pull in trying to make it land smoothly.

3 of us? oh man this is surreal...
Perhaps there's some subconscious link between the Welsh and childish but entertaining kid's toys?

I bought a Master Chief figure from Game a few months ago and the girl on the counter asked me if I was going to play with it or just have it as a model and/or keep it in the box, I truthfully answered that I was going to take it out of the box when I got home and play with it and then it would sit by my desk after that for entertainment when I get bored. He's still sat there on my joystick and every so often I may him shoot the models of cats sat on top of my screen.

Only when I put this into words do I realise how sad I must sound. I have a remote control car in my room as well and I live about 30 minutes away from the Welsh border. Trend?

the thing that caught my attention in this thread was the fact that you got it in the checkout aisle. there's so many things there that catch my attention, it's hard to not buy too much there alone, even if i just went to the store for beer

I have a Snoopy the Dog teddy I won in a raffle years ago who sits at my desk and guards the computer. You are not alone in having toys at a desk. Also, I'm seriously considering putting up a sign: "Welcome to Wales: Remote control toy central". Of course with the mirror sign of "Croeso y Cymru: 'n anghysbell llywodraetha 'n ganolog". That's a very..very rough translation.

I have a different variation of the rubiks cube. Normal, 5*5, small key chain, etc.

That's as close as I get.

I had a remote control car that is controlled by a pen and is about 2 centimeters long (really) I used to have so much fun in class with it.
