You all have no doubt lost at least one game over your years, and if you haven't, I seriously envy you.

Anyway, with modern handhelds, it seems like games are getting easier and easier to lose. Fortunately the industry has pretty much moved past memory cards on consoles, so it's only a problem with DS and the forever alone PSP. I've been thinking about this, especially after I lost my Platinum and HeartGold Versions about a month ago (even more especially since I had a bunch of my GBA Pokemon and the friggin Pokerus in Platinum) - what if there was a device that wirelessly hooked up to a microchip you implanted in your DS games, like a dog chip? It would monitor the location of all your games from a single hard-to-lose device. Obviously, it would have to be safe, but how possible and hopefully cheap would such a device be? I really don't want to lose any more tiny cartridges to my horrible memory.

Keep in mind it's 2:45am where I am, so if this post seems scatterbrained, it's because it is. Apologies in advance.

The first try died because my browser crashed just after I hit post, so hopefully it'll submit this time.

I would think it would operate more like a metal detector, with it beeping more and more as you got closer to a game with the chip in it.

But honestly, the way you described, there would have to be a way for the device to convey to you where in your house that object is. It would have to have GPS coverage of your house, which is probably illegal in the US if possible in the first place.

Which is a lot less simple and probably a lot more expensive (a car GPS costs like 100 dollars and all it is is a display screen with GPS reception) than, say, not losing your games.
