The trade in value is the lowest possible dollar amount a store can give you to leave that shiny game behind.

oh but see if i can get a basic idea for say GameStop...i add $10-$15..i know everybody who works and runs a game store here and they give me discounts and extra on trades...i picked up a brand new copy of ODST WITH a Johnson code ((after release day)) for only $29.86..because i helped them out with a Halo tourny..i could go on and on for everything they've hooked me up with

Ah, I remember when the fascists at Electronics Boutique gave me $7 credit for my Destroy All Humans! AND Jak II, simply because ONE didn't have the manual.
yeah EB and GS rip ppl off...order games from ABU Games ((i know the owners at that place as well as another one)) ABU actually cares about ppl

The way I do it (in the UK) go into the store and pick up copies of the games you want to trade in there, then ask the guy at the counter how much they give for each

always do it for me at Gamestation

I don't know what it's like everywhere else but in Australia GAME have pretty good trade in deals.
I traded in Prototype because it was dull (imo) and they gave me $60 AU for it, I was very happy!
Oh and this was about 5 weeks after it came out.
Perhaps I should become a PR worker for them hehe..

Either that or check CEX online their prices aren't bad.

At GAME here in AU i got $70AU off ODST for COD WaW, despite the fact that i bought the game for that price a few months earlier. I also got $70AU off my CoD MW2 pre order for soul caliber 4, a game i bought for $40 at a clearance sale about 3-4 months ago. I got a free month of Xbox live with ODST also.
Epic trade in value right there. EB are rip offs compared to them.
My Friend traded in Halo wars, Resident Evil 5 and two other games and got $98AU off... He still paid a Dollar for the game.

Went to get a trade in - value for Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, FFX, FFX-2 and FF XII, all non platinum. "Well these games are scratched horribly and rather old, I guess 7$ each".

...There were barely any scratches on them, non platinum AND had everything in them, and they wanted 35$ to trade in. GTFO EB Games, world's largest rip-offs.

I would only advise trading in if there are Trade in Deals like trade in 2 games get 1 free.
This. Sometimes you can get a good deal if you pay attention. I once found in one store they would give you twenty quid off of a game if you traded in one of a specific selection of games. Went in to a rival chain, and found said game for a fiver. One sale, and return trip later, and I'd saved £15.

find a local buisness game store. They always give better values and know what their games are worth.

to be honest id just try something on here.

start another forum listing the games you have that you want to get rid of
then other people can list the games they want to trade

and if u like what person A has then you two can mail each other games...

i personally will never trade in a game because the 10 or 15$$$ they give u is a slap in the face in my opinion...

in this method at least ur getting a fair trade..

JUST BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET RIPPED OFF ask for proof that they have the game and etc etc
