Hey there, first post on these forums. Wasn't sure if this belonged in "Gaming Discussion" or "Off-Topic Discussion", but I figured it belonged here as it was about games in general.

What exactly is the best way to go about trading games online, if there really is a way to do so other than simply trusting the other person? You see, I got a Call of Duty: World at War activation code for the PC from a friend of mine online as a gift. I have confirmed it's valid, and haven't activated it yet, and the thing is, I'm not really interested in doing so. I already have the game for the Xbox 360 and I've grown tired of it to begin with. So, I'm figuring now I might be able to trade it with anyone who wants it. I've been interested in playing WoW after about a years break, yet don't own the WotLK expansion. So I figure, "Hey, why not trade my WaW activation code for a WotLK activation code? Seems pretty reasonable", since I can't exactly just go to a gamestop and get a refund for just an activation code. Not to mention the WotLK expansion goes for $25 bucks and WaW is still in the $50-$60 range.

What I'm worried about, however, is how easily I could be jipped. It's not a HUGE deal to me, as it isn't really much of a loss, but I still want to make a profit from this thing if I can. Are there communities out there for trading activation codes online, or sites designed for safely doing so? Is there any real way I could go about doing this without the high risk of "LOL Free World at War cya later n00b"?

What you could do is trade via paypal.
Have him pay how much CoD is to you, give him the game via paypal (this makes it a safe transaction).
Then you pay him however much you think WoW expansion is worth, via paypal, he gives you the key, and then after all that, you two agree to split the difference over the extra $$ that CoD costs(via paypal). That way you give him a bit of a discount, only lose a little bit back, and he's more inclined to agree to it, and he gets the game for cheaper. Comprehende?

Huh.

Well if you're going with the random internet person route then I'd be careful. I've never actually traded/gifted/received a game from someone who was not currently a friend.

the least you can do is trade it with a gaming/online friend.

if its just a random person, i wouldn't advise it.
