I really don't know what people are up in arms about. The original movie was called "Dumb and Dumber." As the title suggested, it was dumb. This movie also looks dumb, which seems to be in keeping with the spirit of the original.
The primary difference is, those of you who saw the first one when it was new are 20 years older now, and your tastes have most likely changed a bit.
