Yeah, forgetting my normal dislike for CoD, in a theoretical situation where this was a sequel to a game I was very fond of.... I would still be majorly disappointed with just how little the graphics changed.
I mean, really?
It is like Skyrim, when the screenshots first started coming out for that, they strongly resembled Oblivion, enough that for a bit I was like "Aw, c'mon, really? are they seriously just going to clone Oblivion for the next game?" though since then I've seen enough to know otherwise, I guess my point is just this,
I have no problem with yearly releases, if you can do it more power to you, but I DO expect and hope that each release would be significantly different. Not asking it to be better, since sometimes that falls into the preference of the gamer (for instance I'd say everything after CoD4 was a downhill fall, but I imagine some would argue the opposite.) But update the graphics a bit at least, so that even if you really are just cashing in on doing the "same stuff that works" you can at the very least deceive me that it is different by the visuals. But honestly.... it looks identical. In gameplay, in graphics, in style. Just a couple new guns n' stuff really.
Yes, I haven't ever been a fan of the recent CoD games, and you can go ahead and dismiss this for that fact if you want, but I often do purchase CoD games to play splitscreen with my buddies (call me oldschool, I prefer to sit beside the guy who camps me so I can smack him the head when he does that.) so I would like to see improvements enough to give me a reason to consider if I'd purchase this to play with friends or not.
But so far... just looks like more of the same. I'll stick with the games I've already bought.
