I really can't unsee the "Dead 'Sland" thing from Critical Miss...
I was thinking the very same... how does one hang themselves on a palm tree? :D

OT: Don't usually play zombie games, but I might rent this. Not like I got anything more interesting going on right now anyway.

Okay, the first trailer looked like something that would win awards. This trailer looks like Left 4 Dead on an island. I'm hoping it's not just Left 4 Dead on an island...
Really? I stopped watching when they got ZOMBIE SLAY-O-VISION! [zombies turn red on the screen]
Yeah, it was doomed to be a Left 4 dead on a island when they introduced ARENAS into the game.

Did anyone else notice a huge amount of guns? Didn't they say that melee was going to be the main playstyle and guns would be rare? Yeesh.
HYPOCRITICAL GAMES, WE FORGOT OUR PROMISE! I'm still peeved, when I saw a gun in a TRAILER, I almost sent a angry letter, then cooled off, BUT NOW! REALLY!? Maybe they meant it the other way around?

Was I supposed to take that seriously? I tried my best, but couldn't stop laughing at the horrible attempts at Australian accents. I mean, I live there and no person I know talks like that.
Its New Zealand accents, one is a stereotypical black guy, a white dad from america [maybe], a random hot chick, who I think is new zealand and some other, forgettable guy.

Oh, right, on the topic. ITS A LEFT 4 DEAD 3! Tech labs brought my wish. Probably won't get this for a long while, until the price is crazy low from a steam deal.

So it's a zombie slaying experience and not the emotionally deep zombie survival game I wanted? So in other words, it's almost exactly like all those other zombie games out there and not a refreshing take on the genre? I'll be spending my time more useful then.

When I saw the first trailer (the one that went in reverse) I was really exited about this but as soon as I saw gameplay I got completely turned off by it and now I just feel disappointed by it I think it's not the fact that it looks bad (because it doesn't it actually looks really good) but instead the fact that it's another freaking zombie shooter and don't get me wrong those are fun but the first trailer made me think of something more horror, I thought maybe more character driven, less shooter more survival and this is totally not what I was expecting and although it looks fun I don't think I will be picking this up, I mean I haven't even played Left 4 Dead, in fact the only action zombie game I've played was CoD World at War and it was on a friend's house, so this is probably just not my style of game.

Yea I noticed that too. It's really odd that they put those clips in trailer eventhought, like you said, game is focusing on melee etc combat.

OH man...that music will always bring a manly tear to my eye. I fucking love slow piano pieces, expecially ones that remind me of zombie girls.

Not sure how I feel about this. My friend is getting it and he wants me to buy, but I already have Space Marine preordered. Once I saw the gameplay videos with the numbers bouncing off of hits and whatnot, I was a little turned off. Kinda hope those can be turned off. I might get it in a couple months.

Wait, they got their own version of a Boomer and possibly a "strong" zombie (the big one in a straitjacket)? Couldn't they be abit more creative? Well regardless of that I still think it will be a good game.
In all fairness, "strong zombie" is a pretty broad description. You get enough zombie entertainment out there and you're bound to see overlap.

This looked great until they add the stupid "roid zombie" stuff like in L4D. Which is all this game is. I loved, what i think from the trailer, all the story and character stuff. An the idea of surviving on a zombie infested island sounds awesome. But with the now "special" zombies added makes my interest drop.

'Deep and satisfying'
"BOOYA!"

Having slow piano music over someone saying 'We roll t'get'er, or we fuk'd' is just stupid.

Kind of worried...it has been said in many interviews and such that it focuses on melee combat but from what I saw, it was pretty much LEFT 4 DEAD: SUNSHINE EDITION.

Holy shit, they sound like the biggest pricks that ever came to pricky mick pricksten in the decade ruled by a satanic prick who worshiped the most evil prick ever. The only one that sounds like someone who should live is Purna, for the simple fact she killed a child molester who was convicted, while all the others seem to karmatically destroyed their lives by just being prickish. Also, the china chick should live too, but she seems to be filler for no reason.
At least its 2 guys and 2 chicks, but I don't see why they didn't put 'this game was made by several, varying ethnicites because all we want is to give peace a chance' somewhere on the box.

Also, when I saw your avatar, I though directly of this.

Boo...

Another co-op zombie game? Why can't someone do a lone-survivor not-quite-so self-aware serious zombie epic?

I'm sure this'll be good but I want scary and co-op does not equal scary.

This game might be a lot less silly fun and a lot more realistic and serious than I first thought.

The gameplay looks kind of like Dead Rising meets Left 4 Dead, but that music can make anything sound serious and sad.

Surely it can't be. I am a New Zealander, and these guys sound nothing like how I speak or how I hear others speak on a daily basis. Are you sure, or is it just supposed to be and done badly?

Because to me it sounded like awful versions of the Australian accent. :D

Really? Some of those quotes picture this as a horror title? Can't think of much less horrific than a game based around humorous and interesting ways to disintegrate hordes of ineffectual meatbags. Yet this one seems to lack the toungue-in-cheek satire of Dead Rising.

Honestly, I think it looks like a very pretty and polished game, but is there really still a market for this?
How can you make a tongue-in-cheek satire of Dead Rising? Dead Rising is pretty damn tongue-in-cheek as it is. Are we getting into the Inception of satire/humor now?

OT: My interest in this game has slowly but surely been killed ever since the release of that awesome trailer, you all know the one I'm talking about. We went from awesome, cinematic zombie experience to, "I already own Dead Rising 2, L4D and Killing Floor."

I'll probably pick it up at some point, just not for $60.

Okay, I keep watching the trailer over and over again trying to make myself interested. So lets look at this:

It's a co-op zombie game. Even if it has a single-player you're probably going to play with bots. Oh, boy.

The setting is fantastic and zombies seem to abound. So that's a good thing.

The weapons are more geared to comedy. (FUUUU)

That's possibly the most inappropriate music for a game trailer ever.

I'm screwed. I will never have a serious zombie-survival epic. People want Zombieland way too much. That's fine, but I don't want it. This had the opportunity to eat up a lot of the "Just waiting for Skyrim" time too.
